I keep saying, get rid of them and try an alternative, they do not deserve your money and with all the complaints on this forum recently during the world cup, it still surprises me that they are still in business or people still give them 12 months money in advance.

Laptamike, To be honest, none of them anymore. I have learnt a lot from the members of this forum and am in the process of watching Wimbledon live for the sum of £5 per month and that gives me access to all uk channels via an vpn but you must have internet. We use Nethouse networks and although they had problems the week before last with some transmitter work, last week and this has been fine and we have had the bbc one and two on most of the afternoon and evening. Alternatively, check out St George's threads on watching british tv for free, I must admit to not trying it but it seems there are plenty that have and are happy with what they are receiving. In other words, why pay £175 'ish for a service that is poor via Dopi and we do not watch that much and if you are into football anything you cannot get on tv, go down to your local sports bar with some friends and enjoy watching it in company.

A 4.2 is not an absolute must...A good quality 1.8m dish can also pick up loads of UK channels including ITV1/FIVE,Channel4 and every major event covered by BBC on their interactive channels (red dot) such as the World Cup/Formula1/Wimbledon/Snooker/Golf/Darts etc.... Although most of the above content is free to air in UK,since they are transmitted all over Europe and can be picked up on a 1.8m dish,by EU law they are required to be encrypted, so a minimum SKY subscription is required to view them. Minimum SKY subscription starts with Entertainment Packs as low as £18 p/month >> http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/entertainment-packs/ Also please note,1.8m dish picks up around 12 High Definition channels (and increasing every day)

Iceman It is possible to get all the Sky Free to air channels without a subscription. You can buy a Sky non-subscrition card from Sky for a one-off £20. https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/faq Click: "Do I have to pay for a new viewing card" Maybe you are correct, but once you subscribe, you can then cancel and you keep the FTA channels. Do you know where I can get a list of the 1.8 HD channel list?

We will have to wait and see on that one I suppose Hector. After all, if the ban is based purely on Mark's warnings about Dopi and they have proved to be true, the ban should be cancelled. I suppose it depends on whether the person who imposed the ban is willing to admit that they may have banned Mark unjustly. Also depends on whether Izzet is still in control of the banning side of the forum or if that side has been handed over to the mods aswell. Now that many members might be trying to move to a better system I think Marks' input would be invaluable.

| Texas, I have not asked him personally but I do know that when people have requested the ban for someone be removed you are told to contact Izzet. I didn't state that Izzet had banned Mark, read my post again. "the person who imposed the ban " However it used to be Izzet that you needed to get the ban removed therefore he was in control of the banning system in the past - "depends on whether Izzet is still in control of the banning side of the forum " Please don't try to get me in trouble by twisting my posts, I can make enough of an ass of myself without help. | Proger1, re: message 23. I agree. Seriously, we may both get banned for discussing the "inner workings" of the forum. Please remember who is now in control of the asylum. I was going to suggest a new set of "Rules & Regulations" but then I thought better of it. Now, I've mentioned it, my first rule is: "Deleted, Deleted, Deleted, Deleted, Deleted, Deleted, Deleted, Deleted, I will not tolerate any insubordination. This is my party (sorry board) and I'll cry if I want to" This member has been banned for a period longer than Marky. Please submit all photos (only showing your real face, partly covered by a mug of beer) to HRH, Flight Squadon Leader, General Sir Algenon J (Arthur Rank). |

Teatime you will require a Dreambox hd800 satellite receiver and a motorised dish. If you are specifically wanting Sky UK than as Iceman has recommended a 1.8 metre dish will do to get most channels, however to receive everything from Europe you will require the dish to be motorised. Iceman may do this or Pronto have also advertised on this forum as well.

Texas, lets face it, if Izzet hands over the reigns to another, it really won't matter who it is. Someone will always be upset because they are not in agreement. The way I see it, as long as the administrator is consistent and the mods give reasons for what happens then we will all know where we stand. As most people are aware and as I mentioned above, I can make an ass of myself quite easily, and frequently do, before any one else adds it The mods up to now seem to appreciate that I am not doing it intentionally, most of the time. I try to stick to the rules although I slip on occasion but who doesn't. We shall see soon enough I suppose

re msg:13 Yes it is possible to watch the mentioned free channels without a SKY sub, but how feasable is it to invest in a 1.8m dish and receive only 3-4 channels? On the 4.2m dish there is a wider selection of free channels, but on the 1.8m dish they are very limited, so a minimum SKY package justifies the investment. As rigsby has pointed out, some FTA channels do not require a smartcard but those transmitted on Astra South beams have to be encrypted by law...So either a valid or an expired SKY card or Freesat card is required >> https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/ This is the full lis of 40 or so HD channels available with a 4.2m dish.. http://www.lyngsat.com/hd/28east.html The 1.8m dish can pick up the ones on the 2A & 2B South beam (second column on the right list the beams)

@Tangerineman I will mail you details later on tonight when i finish work.. As for the SKY card being used in a box other than the one it is paired to... Yes, this is possible BUT only the Entertainment Mix channels can be viewed. To view the Premium Channels (Sports & Movies) the card must be paired to the box.

Dear AJ Re; Message 25. Your comment in message 25: "If you want to discuss the 'inner workings' of the board then please do so by e-mail. " Your recent response to my attempting a discussion by email, and I qoute "Life is generally unfair but I guess we all have to live with it." Please tell me why should I wish to discuss things by email, when you respond as above? Finally, when one is thought to behave unreasonably, as in the case of the referee during the Germany/England game, one can instantly have respect when an apology is given quickly. Your behaviour with MM and the whole Dopi saga will result in only you being the one thought of in a negative manner. IMHO.

I am an avid reader of 44 posts on anything TV as i have yet to decide on my choice of system. However and let me say at the onset of my post i am not a disciple of mark 6m's and value all posts based on experience and knowledge. Currently there seems to be a huge amount of negative feedback with dissatisfied users with dopi tv and the most reliable everyday system within my price range is 1.8m sky package, but the investigation continues. The vast majority of posters on here with regard to the tv situation have been of immense help and it is really helpful to people like myself tryingt to grasp the world of tv in the TRNC world. To return to my point re 6 m's it is a huge shame that he may have been banned for merly expressing his opinion on what will come to pass with regards to dopi tv, based i may add on a massive amount of experience in the industry, and now reading a lot of dopi users posts it may have come to fruition. I say free the arguementative 1
