anyone done self load container uk to north cyprus

hi

i am looking into self load 20ft container, and anyone who has done this, how it went ? any advice , insurance and storage this end or in north cyprus and any good companys .

Yes we did it via Olay trans very very good we packed and loaded and used Olay trans very very cheap, and not one single breakage, our friend used Pickfords for wrap pack and despatch and had loads of problems good luck.



Just one big mistake, we got rid of so much stuff in the UK that we should have kept.

We used EUROMED,door to door service,self packed and secured with commercial rachets.Everything was in same place as we put them.

Do please add to your list the things that are not in boxes.I didnt,thinking there was no need because they were open to see,got awat with it bit you might not be so lucky.All in all it took about 4 weeks and very good service.

We used Olaytrans and packed the container ourselves. A 20ft container is approx the same size as a single garage so I emptied the garage and when each box was packed put it in the garage over a period of some weeks as a trial fit. When the container arrives it obviously stays on the lorry and probably parks up on the road so it is a good idea to have plenty of bodies to hand to relay the boxes, some in the container stacking, some in the garage and some carrying. Olytrans had about 6 men to unload the container at night in the TRNC and we had 2 customs men checking everything.



Had no breakages and I have to say Olytrans were very good.

We used Euromed & also had a very good service. self load they unload this end customs men very nice no problems would use them again if needed.

i will check them all out thank you, i like the idea about the garage,i take it you have to list every thing in the boxes and then have it translated into turkish ? if there is a hold up do you know if they have storage

Yes Khristy, you do have to list the contents of the boxes., but generally. I wrapped kitchenware in towels,

but just wrote 'kitchenware' on the box

It also helps you when it arrives this end. You can get the boys to put your boxes straight into the room where you need it.
