Hi I am wanting some help. We have an apartment on a site that still has builders electric. We are considering as a group (3 apartments) hiring a generator for August as we can't use any aircon with the builders electric.

Does anyone have any idea what size we would need, where to hire from and approx cost of hire?

Any help greatly appreciated

You'll need a generator of about 30 KVA. This is an approximation not knowing the details of each load in each of the 3 Apts. Make sure it is a diesel engine powering it, NOT petrol.

Just a thought, I have a 22 KVA diesel, auto switch over genny, It as only done approx 400 hours, it is a fantastic piece of kit,

It would easily do 3 appartments, we never went much above 5 KVA in 15 months of living full time with no mains Elec. (in a big villa)

They are around 7 grand stg. I would take £3500 for a quick sale, Moving and fitting can be arranged.

Would be fairly economical between, three apparts. to run.

We have the temp supply and the transformer room is built. We know all the payments have been made as a representative of us went with the cheques to pay the final amounts.

Just waiting for them to install the transformer but it is like pulling teeth

£3500 is a FB price for a 22 kVA genny in goog nick, incl installation. You'd be well advised if the 3 Apt owners bought this, raise the money somehow, as you would sell it on in due course at no loss - maybe even a small profit.
