I've started a new post for this as the other 2 posts are getting clogged down.

This is the latest channel list for the British TV application and ALL channels are working as of this moment. This works in Windows only and requires VLC Player to be installed in the standard location

First go to http://download.cnet.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-13632_4-10267151.html and download VLC player using the on-line wizard.

Next go to this link and download (save - to desktop) the btv ZIP file http://files.britishtv.us.to/britishtv-windows.zip (you will need something like winrar http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html to open the zip file).

Once opened you will see a file called *btv.exe - "right click" that file and click 'extract to'... then click on 'Desktop' under Drive/folder.

This will place a little TV icon on your desktop. Click on the Icon and you will see a black box listing around 40 channels including all the main UK channels...

... then just click on the channel that you want and it will open automatically in VLC player.

NOTE: VLC player must be downloaded to the standard place which is normally: (C) - program files - VideoLan - VLC... otherwise the channel list won't find it.

NOTE: MAC users can use http://files.britishtv.us.to/britishtv-mac.zip instead.

NOTE: Streamplayer2 is not working for UK channels - but is still ok for other channels including adult channels.

NOTE: I also have a VLC play list with around 80 channels on including LQ version of BBC, ITV etc. Email me if you want this and i'll send it to you.

ENJOY!!

Cheers,

G

laughgt - PLEASE READ message 2. Streamplayer is currently not working for UK channels. Use British TV for UK channels - Streamplayer will still work for lots of other channels.

Hi,

Downloaded everything and all seemed ok. I clicked on btv and the channels list appeared. I typed in the channel number e.g. 39(return) and got the following message 'The command line options couldn't be loaded, check that they are valid. This message appears for all channels from 1 to 70.

Any ideas as to what is wrong?

RoxyBob - did you download the British TV zip file in meassage 5? This only has 38 channels and ALL are working at the moment.

If you are saying you have 70 channels to choose from then you are probably using (somehow) the old BTV channel list which no longer works!

Guys and Gals - this is the latest version of British TV. In the past every time some of the channels go down you would then need the new channel list for them to work again. "Hopefully" this new channel list will auto-update with new streams so you "shouldn't" need to download it again and again. This is being put to the test so appologies if it doesn't work first time.

Anyway - this is the latest version and ALL channels are working fine http://files.britishtv.us.to/britishtv-windows.zip

Like all these applications for TV on your PC you need a download speed of at least 2MB.

1MB should be ok for some channels - just make sure you close other applications like MSN, OUTLOOK, SKYPE etc.

If you email me I have a VLC channel list which includes some LQ versions on BBC, ITV etc. that should run no problem on 1mb download.

I've emailed you Skeeds2000.

MillwallMik - you must save VLC to the standard location which is normally something like: C / program files / VLC player. If it's not saved in the standard location then the channel list will not find thge VLC player.

Corbytown - you don't need to open the vlc player. You open the British TV channel list by clicking on the British flag icon on your desk top. This will give you a black box with the channels in - click the channel and it should open automatically in VLC player (providing you have saved VLC player in the standard location as above).

i can also email you a file that has all these channels and more if you are still having problems!

Cheers,

G

Hi St george,

I downloaded all the files as you said and hey hey, all works well except I only have a 1mb connection speed and sadly not fast enough to stop it constantly freezing and pixilating.

Could you email me the LQ list of channels please, I just joined the group so cannot see your email address.

Thanx for the info etc,

nci2010 - you need this http://files.britishtv.us.to/britishtv-mac.zip

Jimbob - glad you like it

Coper - you need a good 1mb connection really, preferably 1.5mb. If you have less I can email you a channel list for VLC player with some LQ channels for BBC, ITV etc. that should work on under 1mb.

Jefferson - you need something like http://vpnuk.net/ to watch TV catch-up and I-player.

Have fun,

Cooper, it really depends how much you want to watch. I had to topmine up before the month expired when I bought a 4g so went and bought a 10g for 90tl. 25th June for 30 days. I just checked and have used

so far 5.99, so have 4g left out of my 10 to be used by 25th July. We watched some of the world cup matches during that time and I have watched Eastenders (sad). We watch a fair bit of Sky News and other news programmes too. Hope that helps. If you want to check your balance send a text message on Gezz to 1111 and just type in durum in the message part.

Nice one Whistler.

Sammie - yes it is a flag (union Jack) now. If you double click it - it should open a black box with the channel list. If it doesn't I'm not sure what's wrong.

Try re-installing - if you are still having problems email me and I will send you another channel list which you can use directly in VLC player.

GOOD LUCK,

When ive tried to download again windows tells me its already downloaded so im pretty certain ok upto this point

I have the British TV icon on my Desktop and when I click on that I get a very simple list ( its very basic black and white text like a computer may have displayed many years ago ) of Channels with a request to confirm which Channel I want to watch

When I select a no and press enter nothing happens

Any ideas?

Your help would be greatly appreciated

The British TV app no longer works. If you visit the website ( http://britishtv.us.to ) you get a page telling you that .....

The account could have been suspended for a variety of reasons. We find that the most popular reason for suspension is a violation of the Terms of Service. Well, actually it seems to be the only reason. Anyways, Here is a quick rundown of the Terms of Service, which the account holder agreed to when the holder signed up for Web Hosting.

etc etc !

Back to the drawing board I guess. Can anyone get streamplayer to work these days?

Curious!

It's worked perfectly for me up until now, but has started returning an XML parser error on my system. I assumed it was because the IP address of the steams was no longer functioning.

I'll investigate a bit and see if I can work it out.

Problem here too. When I click on the British tv icon, all I get is a black display, no programmes listed, just the flashing icon

British TV is working fine from the punchserver download. If anyone is having problems with this application you are free to email me and I will happily send you a playlist, with more channels including LQ UK channels, which you can play directly in VLC player.

The latest version of Streamplayer2 is working fine at the moment:

You can download it here - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4LTSYLV9

You must have the .net framework 4 installed first (some of you may have done this for the last version of streamplayer so no need to do again. Get it here - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992&displaylang=en

Open zip as before and extract ALL files to your desktop – you MUST extract ALL files and leave them on your desktop for this to work.

You will then see a streamplayer icon on your desktop. Double click this and the streamplayer will open. Click on English at the top and then click on the channel logo - BBC1, ITV1 etc. Some will open in WMP and some will open in VLC. If a stream doesn't work 'right click' the channel logo and then choose one of the 2 alternatives.

As i write this all channels seem ok.

This should keep you going until BTV is up and running again

I have ALL the UK channels - BBC1, ITV1, BBC2, ITV 2, CHANNEL 4, CBEEBIES etc. working fine using the new Streamplayer download in MSG84. Just click on the channel icon and it will open automatically in WMP. I am literally watching BBC1 as we speak. How long it will last is anyone's guess!!

The BRITISH TV aplication IS NOT WORKING!!!! I will let you know as soon as it's fixed...

Hi Stgeorge1

I have followed all your instructions. I have the VLC icon on my desktop and also the british flag. The 30 or so channels are listed and when I enter a channel I want to watch the vlc player comes on the screen and then the following mesage:

Your input can't be opened:

VLC is unable to open the MRL ' http://streams.britishtv.us.to/Sky_News'. Check the log for details.

Any ideas how I overcome this? I have saved the VLC in the recommended location videolan etc

lixiechick - please read msg 93 - BRITISH TV application is currently NOT WORKING!

It's nothing you have done wrong - ALL VLC links are down.

You can use the streamplayer application (which uses WMP instead of VLC) in msg 84 and as soon as British TV is up and running again I will let you all know.

Thank you for your quick reply G

I have tried the wmp instead but when i click the regular download it takes seconds and isn't created in a zip file so I am unable to extract files etc

Anu ideas there? if not I will just wait for the VLC to be up and running.

Sorry Plumber - only WMP as far as I know.

You could try downloading something like this which may make your W7 seem genuine:

Hello Folks,

Ok ive just been reading all your posts regarding UKTV let me just put all of you in the picture, British TV is down and will stay down now, streamplayer2 which is windows and vlc based will also go down very soon so enjoy it while it last's.

Streamplayer 2 is taken from a third party source who's name will remain unknown as will the company, a single person has developed this player, how let me explain they signed up for this companies service in the UK and now have produced this player which is the third edition in a long line of British TV scams, Streamplayer 2 will only work as long as the unknown person continues his subscription which as i know for a fact will run out soon, like its done before and before this, this program has been massed all over the internet from myp2p forums, who rip off everybody under the sun and lay claim to it themselfs, this person has now been banned from the above mentioned. And streamplayer will not be updated.

Well it didn't work .... :(

I have not had the "not genuine" message & it hasn't removed my desktop nackground which it normally does but when I ran the validation with m/soft it just hung there for 20 mins...

My pc is working all ok but it didn't validate & thus the media hasn't been updated so I don't realyy know where to go from here... any ideas guys?

What's ss1-2-3?

Its going to be very hard to get British TV up and running again as the source that these come from have completly changed their setup due to all their streams being posted all over the internet. And i know what setup they use now and its nearly impossible to crack but you never know.

The ss1 means Sky sports.

Have a nice weekend.

What a pity this has all gone pear shaped. For three weeks, from when I read about this, we have been enjoying Grands Prix, tennis, golf etc. Now it's all gone. A real shame, especially when one of our members worked so hard to get it all going for us. Is there any chance of any rescue.... From the outset of reading how to do it, it all worked perfectly for us. So disappointed. We have Sky but of course that doesn't work too well in the summer, so we miss out on a lot of sport, this UK TV was a life saver. But, Ho Hum. Some good news would be great.

Ok – here it goes. First go to http://www.4shared.com/file/j2-sN1Hu/MyP2PLiveTV.html and download the myp2p TV player Zip file. Open and extract the file to your desk top. You should have a little TV icon on your desktop now?

For best performance [optional] I suggest you download and install Windows Essentials Codec Pack first as this does not use VLC and this codec pack can play 99% of all media.

http://www.mediacodec.org/

Double click the TV icon to open the player.

How to use:

1. Highlight a channel on the left and then press Play – allow time for buffering.

2. Press the Refresh button to update the channel list.

3. Double click on the stream to go Full screen and Esc to exit.

4. Press the volume button for 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% volume and Mute.

That’s it – SIMPLE!

TIP: Click on the TAB at the top of each list to put in order of either ‘Channel’ ‘Country’ or ‘Category’!!

I can take no credit for this program other than bringing it to you all...

It was developed by the Brilliant ‘Dead Man Walking’ (not his real name) at http://www.myp2p.eu the best place to watch ALL live sports completely FREE.

At the time or writing this most UK channels are working except BBC3 and there’s no ITV3.

Ok - it's not actually a ZIP file, it is the actual .exe file.

Just click download and then click save to desktop - the TV icon should be there then - no need to extract!!! Just tried it myself and works fine.

GOOD LUCK,

George, for itvplayer your friends could try http://webtvunleashed.co.cc. I can't get it to do what it claims but you can get itvPlayer and some ITV channels. It's a combination of Firefox, Tor and FoxyProxy. I managed to adapt it to get all ITV channels, Channel 4, etc. but it still won't connect to the BBC channels but as yet I can't figure out why - it should do but ....................? TNTenerife

As an interim measure, you could try what I'm doing.... I'm using "My Private Network" not free, £5 a month, but reliable.

Then I'm just going to all the different Uk channel catch up sites... BBC iPlayer, 4 on demand, ITV player, etc, etc... I'm watching what I want, when I want for a fiver... might not suit all, but.....

Hi kbire,

With 6meg, you'll probably see things before they happen )))

I've got 1meg here, and it's watchable.

You should have no problems at all, depending where you are.

I agree with phoebe cat, much easier with a vpn, but we used that one and did not like it, belive it or not their is a cheaper one s4uvpnsurfer its only £4 for their basic pakage but whats good is the choice and we found that it works not just with the norm i.e bbc and itv but all freesat channels, the source for the old UKTV program is gone yes they come and go but we got tired of it, now we have reliable TV when ever we want at least we have all channels this xmas so the wife will not moan when im at the pub....
