When I was answering an email this morning, the type suddenly stopped appearing on the screen. The only

way i can type, is by holding each key down for at least 5 seconds. There is also a clicking noise when i press the keys down, my computer is a laptop. can anybody help please.

carry out a complete scan for viruses etc

go to your control panel and find restore your computer to a earlier time.



then take your computer back 1 day in time .



it may sort out your problem if you have not picked up a virus.

If the above haven't worked you could try using the 'virtual keyboard'.

You'll find it here: Start - All programs - Accessories - Accessibility - Virtual keyboard (or you may have to start it in Utility Manager)

Sorry, it's called 'On Screen keyboard' and once opened can be 'Always on top' by selecting in Settings.

sounds like it could be a sticky key problem. If you open the start menu(windows key) does a selection box keep wizzing around all the icons?

is your laptop keyboard dirty it may have food or crumbs dust etc under the keys



get air duster and blast and or remove keyboard and clean

Hi all,





Thanks for everyone who replied to my call for help, carried out a complete scan for viruses and then followed the advice on msg 4 and reversed to earlier time, this seems to have cured the problem. I knew members on Cyprus44 would help me and I am really grateful to you all.
