Anyone know if there is a lottery in TRNC and, if so, can foreigners participate.

Cheers

I was told that you could buy tickets but as a foreigner you wouldn't be allowed to claim any prize money you won.... Maybe someone could confirm or refute this.

Thanks come on aylin, you may have save me some ticket money.

If this is confirmed, I will need to find a 'friendly' who will claim the prize for me and hand over the one million lira!

I have seen a Lottery Stand in Girne near the car park under the that big TV screen thingy ... not sure what the rules are ... can you not enter the EURO lottery on line? Or is there some ruling that you have to be a resident in EURO

here is the main Lottery Website:

Chick-a-Dee. I am not sure if you have to be resident. In addition, being mean, I want to pay as little as possible! I will check out the Euro one though and the lottery stand in Girne. Thanks for the info.

I used to play UK/Euro lottery online transferring money from my UK bank but as soon as I changed my address to TRNC with that bank I was unable to transfer money across. The Euro in lottery is a bit of a clue - you have to be resident in Europe to be able to collect, an address in TRNC won't do.

My friends have played both the KKTC lottery and the Turkish Lottery (milli piyango) and won prizes up to 500YTL which was a lot of cash a couple of years ago and the lottery company paid out, as far as I am aware anyone can play, win and collect prizes for both these lotteries.

The other lottery started when you were in the UK, do we buy a property in Bulgaria, Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Greece, South Cyprus, North Cyprus once that ticket was bought the stakes changed, there have been some success stories and always remember.

"IT COULD BE YOU"
