Heard something about shanty towns springing up in America, so googled it, this is what I found, it is shocking. There are many YouTube clips from the different towns of the USA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F94f_Ycsjs

Wow, absolutely shocking. Watched some of the other clips. Very sad. But thank you..its a reminder that sometimes we need to look at what we do have, not moan about what we dont have. What happened to the saying 'count your blessings'

You have to feel sorry for these people. It's what happens when you live month to month and rely on a pay cheque coming in. Could it happen in th UK? You bet it could and it probably will.

You bet it can No1, there have been homeless people in the UK for years, of course especially in large cities, London has this problem. A friend of mine works for St Mungo's a organisation that helps the homeless, she says the problem is not getting any better, I know we don,t have these tent cities yet, I feel sorry for these unfortunate people it's shocking that this situation exists. I agree message 2 we need to look at what we have got and not what we have not got, there is always someone worse than yourself. James

It's really bad these days, I've been in LA for 9 months and I'm coming back to Kibris next week, at least I own my own house, the Efes is cheap and the fruits and vegetables actually taste like they should taste...this cheeseburger nation has really gone down the tubes. Fast-food conglomerates are running the country, Obama has inherited Bush's crap and hardly anyone speaks English over here anymore. It's very sad...
