I know it's a boring subject, but does anyone know if you can buy a prop for a washing line? If so which shop? or have you got to make your own. Thanks

Can't help you with that one James - have been looking for two years! I suppose they can be bought in the South but I never venture over there. If you do manage to find one kindly post on here where! Maggie

Spider, I have just found a old curtain rail, put a V in it and it's great. Thanks for your suggestion. James

Just go to a builders' supplies depot and buy a standard length of 1/2" galvanised pipe - stick a clothes peg in one end to hold the clothes line and........'Bob's yer uncle - Fanny's yer aunt' - jobbie done!

There is a little cafe next to the car park in Girne and right opposite it is a timber merchant, or should I say there was one when I needed a prop and we bought a length of wood. I haven't looked recently so not sure if it is still there but i think so.

In Cyprus there are millions of lengths of Bamboo about. Cut one down, put a notch in the end and you have got a long lasting, lightweight, cheap, washing line pole.
