I like ileli very much but there are a few problems: On one occasion I bought a lot of goods, which needed several bags. When I got home many items were not in my bags such as bread and milk (which I needed) and I had to go out to another shop to buy them. I checked my till receipt and found that the missing items, which were in my trolley, had not been put through the till so I had not paid for them.

This problem was caused by people coming to the till with/for one item such as cigarettes, phone top-ups and interupting the cashier whilst my items were going through through the check-out.

My items must have been left on the check-out desk and then could have been put through the till for another customer which causes another problem for that customer.

Each customer should be dealt with ONE AT A TIME and the cashier should not try to serve 2 or 3 customers at the same time.

Yeah how annoying is that! I really hate it when someone who only wants cigarettes thinks it's perfectly acceptable to butt in (pardon the pun) and delay/distract your transaction.. I don't mind if I invite them to go first if I've got loads and they only want one item and maybe ask nicely... before my transaction starts but once it's under way it's really annoying.



Tell your till operators not to allow this. It's only polite for the other customer to wait their turn and not presume that we don't mind being knocked back and that our time is less important than their's.

yes it is the best shop for helpful friendly staff a lesson for all the others i always go out of my way to shop there. if they are moving where are they going too long may they continue, but i do agree about the till thing very anoying would love it stopped why so much of a rush at tills every one is always late anyway.

we just love the shop and the girls. We spend thousands of lira there every week as they go out of thier way to get different products for us, like motzerella and various other italian products. we just give a list and they endeavour to obtain these for us. even sweed for me.

TOP MARKS TO ILELI - for asking the question? - Good market research.

Personally I find they have

- a great range of stock

- shelves/freezers which are regularly stocked

- a clean and pleasant shop

- a nice atmosphere - music, smiling staff etc

- staff who are always keen and eager to help

Just sort out the problem at the tills, stop people pushing in and distracting not only the staff, but the customers as well who find that irritating.

yes york the are hundreds of wine merchants to chhose from, and our accountant takes care of all invoices from the pile of fatura we give her. who said it was cheap wine. You may have access to cashncarrys, wne merchants and various suppliers for your restaurant. We do not. That is why we support local shops the wine market here which we do buy from also sells to the public. However i thank you for your kind advice. the girls there are the most helpful of any other supermarket here.At least they are concerned enough to act.

Marjorie - yes, it is on the main road (well just off it really - there's parking at the front of the shop). If you know where the entrance road to the Deniz Kizi hotel is, carry on past there and Ileli is a bit further on on the left hand side. It is almost next door to the Grape Garden restaurant. I'm sure others will be able to give you far better directions that this, but it's well worth a visit, that's for sure.

I too favour Ileli but the car park is small and for those who are not used to this I recommend great care due to the high number of vehicles entering and leaving the fast moving traffic on the main road frontage. Sometimes it is so crowded I have to tether me hoss down the road and bowleg it in me riding boots, darn it !

Love shopping in Ileli,as everyone has said ,helpful friendly staff ,huge range of products and if they don't stock something they will go all out to get it for you.Plus they are open til 2am,so if its too hot to shop in day,try shopping around midnight,its cooler and the car park is a lot less busy

we do operate a deli, fresh parma ham salamis and chesses from around the world, we also make fresh pastas to order, the girls get us many of the products we need ie blocks of parma for the pastas we serve, but raclette,caves du chateau stilton, gorgonzola etc we have to source. However what we ask for they try thier very best , even to the flour to make our pasta. we all know to get these its the other side and we are reculant to ask as we know what you can and cant do, they gfo beyond our call and i love them for it xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Atakara sells (Greek Cypriot) Cyprus Mail during the week and Sunday Mail on, er, Sunday. So do a few other stores.
