We were holidaying in Egypt and decided to take a day trip to Jordan - Petra in particular.

Your passport will be checked and stamped about a million times. It is advisable to wear very comfortable clothing, and good walking shoes.

We had lunch at a '5* star' hotel - not a 5* in my opinion.

Oh yeah the public loos are just revolting.

I have always wanted to see Petra - I wasn't disappointed - but beware it is very, very busy with tourists.

We also noted that our guide was obviously taking back handers from the owner of the poor horses that take tourists up and down to the sites.

A good experience, but wouldn't go back.

Have been to Israel but from Egypt. Was working in U.A.E at time and we would not have been able

to get back to our jobs if we tried to return from there, but Egypt was o.k We just asked for our passports

not to be stamped and they obliged by stamping a paper. Went to Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Dead Sea and

Masada and it was all very interesting, and a very clean place.

Lebanon is very close too, and I would like to visit that some time from Cyprus.

i would like to go by boat rather than fly, I suppose Isreal is a bit suspect at the moment but it seems a shame as all of the countries are stones throw away.Met some Syrians in Girne and they were lovely people

We to Israel & Egypt 10 years ago from Limasol 3day cruise with coach tours included

Jerusalem and Bethlehem I did not enjoy Israel but loved Egypt

Why because of the racist ways that the Palestinians/Non Israeli's were treated

lebanon great and the centre of Beruit was fabulous and the the peolple really friendly and so mixed.

Yore not allowed into Israel with lebanese stamp in passpoert and vice versa.

I imagine they're from the UK. Wouldn't think there would be a problem flying Ercan to Istanbul say and meeting them at the start
