I fear that with the mess that the TRNC government can do to the country, the Greek Cypriot propaganda machine could be another redundancy!

You are right, more Greek Propaganda and the world stands by and allows it to happen.

I remember Mikarious coming to England in the 60s and I found it very difficult to comprehend that a Christian Man of God would preach death, violence and intollerance of others.

This topic does not justify flippant remarks

Ooh, sorry ma'am.

And it is Makarios. If it's so serious a topic why not get names right?

I thought you would have read between the lines that this is about more than just a pop concert.

To be honest Toots i expected this reaction from the Greek Cypriots,so wasnt surprised when i read the article. Both sides committed atrocities in the intervention of 74,it just seems to me that the gcs cannot except this.Is it a coincidence that the concert was scheduled for the 20th,i think not.I really do hope though that the concert goes ahead,as it will bring much needed good publicity to Northern Cyprus. And god knows it needs it,

Paul.

So, back to Helena....

Okay, in all seriousness. I can't think of a bigger current star that the TRNC will have hosted. Paul Anka, Gloria Gaynor and ol' Englebert Humperdinck were big names last year, but way past their prime.

And the other problem is, a mere mortal like me has no chance of getting to see J-Lo (not that I want to) because it's the casinos putting the shows on for their customers. I would have liked to have seen Englebert, for example. Lonely is a man without love. Which brings me back to Helena....

having read that facebook rubbish, it seems to me that all the people writing all that rubbish don't live just over the border but elsewhere. These have always been the trouble makers.

Don't you just want to add about the atroities the gc's performed for years resulting in the intervention. Of course they will still deny this happened

I followed the Guardian link to the "Cyprus Action Network Of America"

If you think that the comments on Facebook are bad/racist just look at what the Yanks are fed as their perspective of the North/South divide. It is UNBELIEVABLE.

They always want to stand in the way of the Turks bettering themselves and the european goverment seems to let them. Lets hope Eroglu will put a stop to this propoganda and Jennifer enjoys her stay her in the trnc l know l would if they were paying me 3 million euros!!!!!

Reported to facebook too.

I really can't understand why the GC's make such a fuss of everything! They have everything on their side, tourism, an airport they built on Turkish land, NO ONE media or otherwise have ever held them accountable for the crimes they committed against TC's -- and years later, this is still going on.

See I live in London and we mix with GC's all the time, we say hi and it just makes you so paranoid - do they secretly think we're scum?

I blame the media for blowing this all out of proportion and the TC's for sitting back and taking it for so many years.. Where is the media support we should have drummed up with the TRUTH????
