Can anyone tell me the electric prices per unit for 2010. Previous posts seem quite old and i am sure they will have increased !

We are trying to work out the cost of running 1 a/c unit at the highest domestice tarif (to cover rental bills ). If we use the highest domestic tariff as a maximum guide we should know approx how much to expect at most.

Thanks

As far as I am aware there has not been an electricity price rise for more than a year. However, the current government has scrapped fuel subsidy for Kib-Tek, so brace yourself! Prices will go up.

50kur per unit?.......................i don't think so.....unless your'e on builders rate.

current price on domestic is 30kur first 200 kw

35 kur second 200kw

But there is an increase in the pipeline..........or in the cable !

I am paying builders electric and its around 87 Kur/min. I don't actually have a bill in front of me but I do remember using .9 TL / minute as a rough guide.

Of course, if you are not on builders then ignore the post.

msg 2 was too simplistic. 50 kurus is the top rate (unless you're on builders electric)

msg 4 was also incorrect. The rate goes up every 250 units, not 200, but only on a 30 day month. It works pro rata on other intervals between meter readings, that is why it is difficult to answer the question, briefly.

The current rates are as follows-

30 kurus per unit for the first 250 units per month.

35 kurus for the next 250 units.

38 kurus for the next 250 units.

50 kurus for any units over 750 per month.

The units at each rate in the month vary as follows:-

200 units, 24 day month

208 units, 25 day month

217 = 26 days

225 = 27 days

233 = 28 days

242 = 29 days

250 = 30 days

258 = 31 days

267 = 32 days

275 = 33 days

283 = 34 days

292 = 35 days

300 = 36 days

So far this year, I have had bills for 33 days, 29 days, 28 days, 34 days, 28 days & 30 days.

The monthly service charge is calculated on exactly the same days, basis.

contd.

Obviously, the effect of the tariff here is to penalise high users (& is completely the opposite to the UK. situation which charges less as you use more). In peak months for electricity usage like mid winter (heating) & mid summer (A/C), the cost per unit can vary quite a lot because of this charging structure.

Depends on the date of your new bill & the date of the previous one. Without that information, I would not hazard a guess. With it i should get it spot on. lol.
