Seen this on Google Alert - Cyprus. Not sure how to post the link but am sure if you go on Google Alert you will find it. These want re-unification?!! Not with an attitude like that.

Totally agree. I am sure they will scare her off. They are very good at the propaganda game, or think they are.

So much for good-will. GCs continually assert that they are not placing the North population under embargoes but are now actually attempting to prevent a cultural event. That the campaigners have reverted to the old insultingly one-sided propaganda - without even bothering to reference what happened before 1974 - gives the lie to their claims that they "accept" we TCs as proper co-inhabitants of Cyprus. Domingo, Gaynor, Tiesto and other world-class acts have seen fit to rise above petty intimidation and perform to great acclaim in the North. I hope a mega-star such as J-Lo will follow suit and give the Cratos Hotel, Girne, Cyprus and the Levant as a whole a really good show.

Msg 8 So how is that,' in Kyrenia (sic) '? If reporters can't even get their basic facts right, what chance is there of anything else they report will include a modicum of truth! Richard

I don't think this is a secret: the "Cratos Premium Hotel" (also Casino, Port and Spa) is afaik located in Karakum (Mahalle = neighbourhood), which is a part of Kyrenia municipality. It's built on Turkish Cypriot land but the majority of the shares are in mainland Turkish hands. If I am wrong or if this information needs some additions I'm sure one of the board members (she is the Cratos PR manager, I think) will write a reaction.

We lived through all this in the good old days in South Africa. Lots of performers and sportsmen were frightened off, although the then mighty rand converted to dollars did entice more than a few.

I think it's disgusting that even by today's standards we're still having this kind of hatred seeping into our lives! And to think the British papers are publishing this crap, making the Turks look so bad is awful. In war there are causalities, we had them too! They can't have the island all to themselves, just like we can't have it.. so it's best to just get on with it!! I'm sick of hearing about it, honestly. I hope JLo does us proud and comes over, it'll be lovely to see her and her bum

Msg 23 Racoonchic I think you're missing the point - if the GCs succeed in stopping this 'gig' they've won again. I'm not a fan of JL but why should they put their propaganda oar in every time North Cyprus manages to book a half decent act! She has already been paid apparently so lets hope she goes through with it and turns up! Maggie

Maggie.. I agree with you, she's not that great but that's the point! It has frustrated me that anything that does go well for the Northern side is so criticized by Southern side and they seem to have some sort of power over the media... which means it all goes through the wash again! I'm tired of hearing how mean the Turks are, maybe people need to start reading some literature!

Dudakli maybe the North needs to start standing up to them a bit more! They are bullies and the way to deal with bullies is to give em some back! They brainwash their young to grow up hating the Turkish people. Northern Cyprus really needs to get a voice and fight back! Maggie

| This sort of behaviour by the dummy spitting, saggy bottom lip, scweem, scweem, scweem,i want,i want,i want, brigade, wont wash this time (i hope).Lets put this all into perspective. In a place called Northern Cyprus, that incidentally, doesnt exist they (Turkey) have funded a massive project that has cost around 200 million quid to complete. Then they drop the bombshell, that on the 24th of July top turn J.Lo is going to arrive in Northern Cyprus,by private jet, picked up by a stretch limo, and whisked away to her very own 700m square private suite.Which incidentally will be named the J.Lo suite. The cost for all this will be around the 3 million mark. All seems so innocent to me,so whats the problem. The problem is, that by promoting this gig the Gcs dont like it up em and see it as the north getting one over on them. How come trhey didnt have a problem when Bobby Davro was in the North. If they win this one then we might as well all pack up and bail out GO J.LO.

Maggie, I totally agree with you.. I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing it! But you know what offends me, how we must bring up and drag ourselves through the pain and suffering over and over again just to have our voice heard! Why should it be this way?? UK media are vile, I think it's got to do with the fact that GC's are in the EU.. But no matter, whatever we do we'll be dissed completely! But sod it, I'm gonna try and do my best. I hope it's not in vain and I get support...! Thanks Maggie x

All this propaganda from the Greeks amazes me. Does no Greeks read their own historic documents re: - The AKTITAS plan - The Genocide file - giving details of how they intended to achieve ENOSIS by wiping out the Turkish Cypriots - EOKA and their aims and methods - The ruthless killing of the inhabitants of 3 villages: Athlar, Murataga, Sandallar, including a 16 day old baby and 3 centarian Grandmothers (where these the enemy???) and then used bulldozers to dump their bodies into a mass grave. - Andreas Papandreau's book 'Democracy at Gunpoint' which exposes how his later father Geo P, agreed with Mararious and clandestinely despatched 20,000 Greek soldiers to the island for the achievement of ENOSIS. - Council of Europe Resolution 573, adopted 29.7.1974 which states: 'Turkey's intervention in Cyprus was legitimate act emanating from the Treaty of Guarantee.

- Cont.... GREEK GOVERNMENT: 'The Court of Cassation in Athens: Turkey's intervention in Cyprus as a Guarantor Power within the framework of the Zurich and London Agreements is legal. Actually the Greek officers against whom the court cases have been brought are responsible for the intervention'. Turkey was among the Guarantors of the Republic of Cyprus. General Ionnides and his 102 colleagues endangered the integrity of the Republic of Cyprus and creaded the climate for intervention.... JUDGEMENT NO 2658/79 21st March 1979 These are all records which document the situation and there are many more.

Thanks for the support. I blame our lot for not sticking up for what they believe in, and trying to reunify with a nation that are way to backward and stuck in hatred to ever understand the concept - and this just makes things worse!

Solution to two problems. We need a Ministry of Anti - propaganda. So you need - A Minister + 4 Assistant ministers + 12 deputy ministers and about 300 cousins to do the leg work. Get them all from CTA employees and then they get into the black quite soon and the bubbles get a load of their own medicine! Jobs done.

I can not believe that this far on and the goverment and the people in the south are still like this. They say horrible things about the turkish side but at the same time they also did the same horible things. Britain has had wars and we just get on with it and the poeple get on with each other as it happened in the past and alot of people in all countries lost their lives and loved ones. they should grow up!! no wonder the people act in this way if they see their government acting like this.
