We would like to announce that forum admins have come to an agreement about the length of bans.

One forum admin can ban a member for up to two weeks.

Two forum admins can ban a member for up to one month.

Anything over a month, a joint decision by all forum admins is required.

We believe this would be more fair for all members.

It would be good if the admin (or admin's if more than one) that implement the ban, post a message so members know who has been banned by who and for what reason.

Thankyou Izzet for this update, and elko2 for the information regarding the long bans that are upsetting members.....

Agree with teatime, the ridiculously long bans are out of date and seem to some of us a little bit vindictive.....

Lets hope things can only get better with all the mods input....

I think this could work very well.

What does make me laugh, though, is a certain few who have posted on here saying what a wonderful idea it is and continue to post on Nige's board slagging off 44 at every given opportunity.

'You pays your money and you takes your choice' springs to mind.

Jeannie, are you sure you are commenting on the right thread, I just triple checked and all I have seen is sensible and fairer, not one mention of it being a wonderful idea, not even a suggestion that it is a good idea. I think everyone is waiting until we find out the final decision before passing judgement.

No offence my lovely lady just thought I would point it out before it starts another debate.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your message. I apologise if my comment came across in a way that was not intended. I agree that we are waiting to see how things pan out before passing judgement. I was making a point which I felt was valid, but, as you rightly say, the last thing needed at this stage is to start another debate.

Regards.

Jean

Ignore the sarcasm, if that's what it was paul. I just thought it was a tongue in cheek comment.

If you are familiar with another poster, worthy of comment, ignore, it's about par for this member, distant member, I might add.

denizen, if you actually new the details you would realise that rc's question could be seen as completely justified. I have written several posts recently that could be seen as me trying to be a peacekeeper so it could be easy to make an assumption that I might be gunning for a mod job, which I am not I may add.

In trying to avoid getting into disputes myself I seem to have recently been trying to help avoid disputes by others, bad habit I have picked up and I will try to stop it.

denizen, haven't had a drink in 24 days so I think your first statement needs clarification, perhaps you meant it shows when I am being childish and immature as the wife puts it, so very accurately (note to self, stop asking wife about these things) and as previously mentioned on here, that is my work shirt and not my choice.

I am actually supporting germany but don't tell Hans and if anyone is looking for a reason, I spent 7 years of my adult life there which is longer than any other country before or since and Scotland are pishh as we say

Measey, no need to stutter ref 34 and ref 35, what?

As much as it might surprise you to know, I am not psychic so if there is a sharp criticism to be directed at me or anybody else on the thread it might be more productive to write it instead of trying to incite somebody else to do it.

From the Engineer side of my brain "You can only rectify a fault if it is reported to you" so it might just be that what you think you want to say could be helpful.

I criticised rc on another post and deserve any reply I might get (well, maybe not any reply) but he is justified in asking me the question he did.

Just think measey, if I did get the offer to go mod, I would be able to delete all the little sarcy snippets that people who think they are a little bit funny put on that just irritate people.

OK, that's the morning rant out of the way, thanks measey, I feel much better now.

Back to the post, Mods, is there any update to the other banned members and the plans for the future?

proger. don,t think FA is for you as i think you would run with the Hare and The Hounds, people like No 1, Simbas, ismet , are able to deal with matters with ease and comes Natural to them , not meant to be sarcastic just my opion.

measey, you are probably absolutely correct. I can be temperamental and it would probably be reflected in my judgements as an Admin.

That is one of the main reasons I had not even thought about being a mod although I will admit I did ponder over it after it was suggested but only for a moment. There have been a few occasions when I have found myself disliking other members for no other reason than we disagreed on something minor which escalated to stupidity at least on my part. As a mod you would need to rise above this and that is probably a bit of a stretch for me.

Anyway, a bit redundant really as this all started because, I think, rc was implying that I was acting like I wanted to be a mod.

I will stick to trying to be a medeator rather than a moderator but thanks for the constructive criticism.

Peace, Paul
