I was just having a look on the SWB site and came across (for the first time - I'm sure that this has been on their site since the start but never noticed it before) 'Features & Facilities' -

1. Private beach - as I understand it all beaches in NC are public!!

2. Access to water sports beach (for jet skis etc.) - where??

Any thoughts, anyone.

I think private means nearby easily accessable to us and not convenient for others to use unless they come though our complex. Water sports beach? well I guess its what we make it do we want it commercialised with jetskis and what have you migt attract other than swb residents as our pool will if the site gates are left open which most complexes are. I think its marketing licence to promote these features.

rocky - I didn't know our site would be gated - I remember reading about the nighmares another development had (may be Turtle Bay or something) when they opened up a shop/supermarket that was open to the public.

Hi all,

Jakki your right the government declared that all beaches are public and also nothing to be built within 100 metres of the sea in order to preserve the beaches in NC.

Water sports questions... is a mystery to me too?

In an old e-brochure I have it says "gated community"

In written responses from swb and rms that have said it will be a keyfob/card entry gate system.

As far as I understand we will be gated at both roads in (villa road entrance and apartments entrance). The shop will be accessible from the road to bring in revenue although who would be passing until a load more building is done in that area I am not sure? We will have access from the back/onsite I think.

Possibly access to water sports means just up the road at Alagadi or something as in "easy access".

I guess these kind of questions will be answered by RMS.

I suppose really that I should have been asking these questions beforehand but I am more interested in the villa's interior (I am a real mug when it comes to fabrics and French bed linen but there you are) - yeah we'll definitely be asking SWB and RMS these questions in the future. The idea of a card-entry system I think is a good one. We have not visited the beach yet - what's its like? I did read on one of the threads that it's a complete rubbish dump. I know we'll all get together and clean it up but Sheila is there a water sports beach at Alagadi? Any more news on the jetty??

The beach is stony very stony difficult to walk on and the sea difficult to paddle in. We did have a plan to take some sand from a nearby beach at night Loby was going to fill his baggy trousers with Davina helpig with the teas and scones. Lets see what SWB can do about it perhaps we could have some grass laid or some patios I doubt the grass would last long though so paved area may work well. There was also talk of a jetty but a worthwhile one could be a major construction, perhaps the surplus fund could pay for this!!!!!!!! x

Hi all,

The beach looks very natural and unspoilt .

The rubbish on beaches is a problem all over NC as people go out for the day and leave their rubbish there instead of taking it with them- which is ashame.

Next to swb infront of the ravine and to the side of the TBB site there is a huge what looks to be sandy bay which looks clearer and better for swimming in?

Take care d
