There's a great Optician up the high street next to a tutlrkcell telephone shop opposite the money exchange shop.

You will pay over the odds anywhere in Girne for verifocals. It is worth travelling to Lefkosia or even Guzelyurt

to get a better deal. My verifocal sunglasses were quoted higher than the UK last year and they weren't even designer frames.

Try Canada Optics near Astro supermarket, wife got a pair on Saturday only had to wait 4 days, 425tl

My hubby got his at Canada Optic - contacts too and much cheaper than UK. If your a member of BRS you get a further 10% discount!

It is the one thing that I would go to the south for. Better service and choice and far better prices. I use a little opticians opposite and to the left of Debenhams main entrance in Ledra street.

As far as going to the south is concerned, I would not bother. The opticians in the Cyprus Mall quoted me

600 euros for a frame, varifocal lenses which I have to have made thinner and I have to agree this makes them more expensive but 600 euros!!!!! Decided to keep my frame and went to Akay for replacement lenses

got quoted 220 gbp for the lenses only. This makes the frames about 340 gbp roughly.

Canada optic, fantastic service in there. When I broke my uk frames they offered to cut down the lenses to fit one of 2 frames in their shop. They did this foc and only charged me for the frames which happened to be on 50% discount. So I think I paid around 100tl for new frames. The lenses were varifocal with various coatings which would have been astronomical to replace here. So I was absolutely thrilled with them.
