| My husband died 5 months ago, and I went to the court office in Girne and did the necessary paperwork. They cancelled the will, and gave me a copy of the cancellation. However, I was not functioning very well at the time, and have lost the copy. This morning, I trundled down to the office, armed with MY passport, MY husband's passport, the catalogue number of the will, the kitchen sink etc etc.Silly me, I failed to take ANOTHER copy of the Death Certificate that I gave them before. (I had watched them put the cancelled will into the file cabinet I was sitting right beside, BTW) Much shaking of heads. The judge, (whom I have never actually seen smile before, never mind about speaking English!) then explained that nothing could be done until I provided another copy of the Death Certificate which they had months ago, and even when I provided it, I would have to go into the "proper court", where I would need to have an expensive lawyer with me. Anyone know a way round this, please? |

| I am really sorry to hear of your loss and problems, I cannot advise you on what to do, but if I can help you with transport or whatever please ask. Hope you can sort it out soon. James |
