I suspect he's thinking that's a great result. I doubt he will come back to NC, more likely to head for Thailand if they will let him in.

Snakes, time served on remand is taken into account hence the one year he will serve. It's in the BBC article. It's not long enough and sends a poor message to those thinking of skipping bail. He should have got a long sentence for evading the courts never mind the drug dealing. The Home Secretary should appeal against the lenient nature of the sentence. They won't though.... friends in low places.

Let's not forget, he's already "served" a year and a half. Another six months to a year inside and then, probably electronic tagging. The TRNC law, which is bendable and breakable if the politicians think they can get a good screw out of (hence Robb's return in 2006) should rule him out of even enjoying a holiday here. We can but hope. The open prison he has been staying in is an easy life. Judging by his antics in court yesterday he's enjoyed himself there. They ought to have locked him up in a half built shell of a building, with no electricity and no water and no roof. That would have taught him.

Was it ALL his fault, or was he 'asset stripped' by the 'Powers that Be' - for instance, where has all his earthmoving and construction machinery disappeared to? Apparently, the answer to these questions and many others is known by someone who held a high position, but has since flitted to Turkey.
