Right or wrong is not an argument I am willing to get into, I wasn't there, I didn't make any decisions at the time and I have no bias to one side or another.

The fact is, it happened a long time ago.

Why can't people just let the chosen governments try and sort it out without the need to try and run roughshod over what is left of Cyprus. There are in fact 2 sides to this story and ironically enough a great deal of the same stories from different perspectives. The greek cypriots appear to declare that they are the only peoples hard done by and have the international recognition. The turkish cypriots also have rights but don't shout and scream like the GC's.

J. Lo. had nothing to do with the attrocities that happened when she was 5 and saying that appearing in NC now is condoning what happened. That is the same as saying anyone appearing in

appearing in Germany is condoning the atrocities there in WWII and ironically, those attrocities can be proven.

War is hell and there are always terrible situations arrisen from it.



From my perspective only, the GC's are fighting to get back what they believe is rightfully theirs without any evidence that they are willing to give back what is not, They want everything but are willing to give nothing.



In the end that might be the comprimise that happens but that will be the governments decision not yours mine or any body elses.



How blocking famous people from appearing in NC helps your cause I am not sure, it has raised awareness around the world that there is still friction on the island and probably driven away another 5% of tourists to both economies but then maybe you will be happy with that. It has raised awareness to the EU that peace is unlikely without their involvement but maybe you also want that.



We will see in the end I suppose

Agree with your sentiments and i also understand the pressures involved with JLo, after all it is all about business with her management team, nothing else!



I was in the heart of it all back in 1974 and roamed the corridors of the United nations Headquarters in Nicosia. I can tell you this that Turkey intervened to save lives and abuses of human rights. The Uk Government were forewarned and knew exactly what was about to happen. This in itself was acknowledgement of a right of Turkey to defend and protect the Turkish Cypriots. What would have happened had they not carried out their obligations under the treaty, the same treaty which gave Cyprus its independence? Hindsight is a good thing but in this case i can assure you many more lives would have been lost. Many Turkish Families would have not survived!



The Greek extremists along with the Greek Military junta started it all but they are all unwilling to take and accept responsibility for their actions!
