Hi Vod, if your children are young, I wouldn't bother. We went over about two years ago, the beaches were jam packed, music blaring so loud, you couldn't hear yourself think. We onlky walked about 100yds, then turned back. If they're teenagers, they'll probably have a ball.

Joan going by Michelle's Occupation in her members data I think she may have picked the right place for her personal ball (or one night stand).

Personally l would not bother went over last year have 3 boys aged 13, 11 and 3 took them to the water park there cost us 240euros to get in and no food is allowed from the outside they even searched our bags and took the 3 year olds milk and left me with only 1 carton. ıf we hadn't paid ı would have walked away. For the food inside you can imagine the prices they where charging. Out side the park nothing for the kids really just a bay with boats alittle like Girne but of course not as nice.

Go to Pernera in southside, more family orientated than Ayia Napa.

Take a stash of 'Spanish Fly' and have a ball in Ayia Napa - known to the British Squaddies as 'Eye a Nipple'!

Hi Vod78, We often take a trip over and stay in Protaras which is really near AyiaNapa, its a very family friendly resort with a few nice restaurants and family feel about the place - AyiaNapa is very commercialised and full of the 18-30 set this time of year. Its fine for a day or so but wouldn't stay any longer. Yes the Waterpark is expensive but if you pick up a copy of Cyprus Mail (for sale in most supermarkets) they were giving dicsounts of €9 per person. The food is fine, they have a captive audience so will always charge a little more but we found it to be OK. Its a great day out and the kids will love it. The have boat trips running and they always give a one sided account of the Ghost Town of Famagusta but it is interesting nonetheless. Hotels, the Crown Elamaris and the Alvo Elcothea are both fine 3* with good locations in Protaras and not too expensive. Its nice to take a trip over to the South but nicer to return back to the good old TRNC............
