Not sure about the car, but as far as I know you will be required to quarantine your dogs as Turkey is not rabies free. Even pet passport holders (animals guaranteed no diseases etc) have to have at least 21 days. You also need an import letter from the Vetinary dept here. Unless things have changed of course!! .........

Julia if the car is left hand drive you will be able to stay a short while with it but not permanently import it

Perhaps someone else can give you the details

Most dogs from the UK now do home quarantine, but I don't know about from Turkey, you will need to speak to the qurantine people here. Sorry don't know the number, but I'm sure someone will give it to you.

Welcome to the forum Phillip..Why on earth would you want to move from Turkey to here ? My guess is you would need to have all the paper work sorted for the pets first. Please let us know how things work out, as we may like to do it the other way round than you and go to Turkey so much more to do and see.Would pets need to go into quarantine from here to Turkey ? any one know about this one thanks..

Dear Julia,

We moved here from Istanbul nearly two years ago. We brought over our cat and dog and both did time in Quarantine, although they did let them go earlier than the two weeks mandatory because they simply didn't have enough room for all the incoming pets.

We moved with Reis which I think is owned by the brother of the reis supermarket in Nicosia. We moved 2elarge boxes and a teak table and chair set for the garden. We paid 500 tl and were very happy with the move.

Julia,

This was an earlier post from me, hope it helps!! Call Mr.Isfendiyar and you can get more info!!

Best of luck!

Quoted:

"regarding to 1 Day Quarantine:

This is correct info cause our cat was the last animal in the quarantine stayed for 1 month although he had the blood tests done.

This new rule says if you have your animal tested for rabies (the vaccination should be not more than 3 months old I guess, pls recheck!!) your animal should stay in quarantine only for a day or so.

Unfortunately our cat Diego has to stay there for 3 weeks as we came in TRNC right before this rule has set.

You can get more info on the subject from the Veterinary Department from Mr.Isfendiyar:

Tel: +90392 2253551

Regional Official Veterinarian: Mehmet İsfendiyar

Tel No: Work: +90392 2253551 / +90392 2253751

Hope this helps!! "
