The deepening divide is not only the Greek Cypriot home front. The same and perhaps worse, many of whom do not see the light of day seems to unfold and Cypriot front. After the revelations Turkish newspaper, which also published the "Today" on relations anger formed between Turkish Cypriots and Turkish settlers, seems to be going underground war between the government of Erdogan and Dervis Eroglu. The background shows an open letter of Serdar Denktas, which originates from the Turkish political magazine Aitilik "to attack the government Erdogan Expressing grave concern over the situation in the occupied territories, the magazine directly accuses the Justice and Development Party of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, that undermines the "government" Eroglu. He says that the "election" Eroglu was a "cold shower" for Ankara Erdogan and his party has decided to sabotage, armed with the economy, "since it is well known that northern Cyprus is financially dependent on Turkey," as noted.

As a first target selected the "Turkish Cypriot airlines, which have gone bankrupt. Specifies that the debt of 50 million U.S. dollars "was not heaven or come after the election Eroglu. The debt crisis and "airlines" occurred prior to and during the governance of the party Talat. The second objective was the "Eastern Mediterranean University, which, while appearing as a prosperous, suddenly the student enrollments declined, leading to a major crisis erupt. The magazine reveals that these two "government bodies" will be sold to private companies that are affiliated to the ruling party of Turkey. And the magazine continues with a series of questions: "Why Turkey has not signed an agreement with T.D.V.K. to create free trade zone in the port of Mersin Why collects customs duties on goods transported from T.D.V.K. Turkey Why Turkey does not want the T.D.V.K. to become financially independent? ".

Then it says that the pseudo-pressed Turkey to proceed with early elections in order to bend the will shown by the "Turkish Cypriot people" in the previous 'elections'. "The Justice and Development party wants to bring an hour later an agreement with Greek Cypriots. Behind closed doors began to discuss and closed area of Varosha, "he says.

Turkey has more important things to deal with than N cyprus - its highly doubted that they would think in that manner.

msg 4 Turkey has more important things to deal with than N cyprus. exactly my point turkey never thought that TCs are important for them tha importance is the geopolitical and geographical position of this rock call cyprus (the unsinkable aircraft carrier). As Davutoglu, in his book "strategic depth" Even though there was not a Muslim; Turkish, Turkey, have to maintain a Cyprus issue. No country can remain indifferent to such an island-BPI located in the heart of the living coun- conditions [...] Turkey must see the strategic advantage acquisition

The economic crisis in the Occupied highlighted the great divide Turkish Cypriots and Turkish settlers. The "Sabah" talking about open war. |

The thing is, the situation in South Cyprus is rubbish too. They have the same scams, rip-off builders, and an economy which is possibly in a worse position than that of North Cyprus. North Cyprus has the 'embargoes' - always used as an excuse IMHO, but little manufacturing, a lot fewer tourists, largely because of the lack of direct flights, casinos and construction - which is not a healthy sector currently. The Greek Cypriots have it all. Direct trade, direct flights, the lion's share of tourists, EU membership, and still have screwed up. Eurocypria was saved by a bit of jiggery pokery and now appears set for merger with Cyprus Airways. South Cyprus is now being set tough targets for budget cuts by the EU and unemployment is at a 40-year high. The grass isn't always greener.

The posts I made are from your newspapers. Have you your blinkers ready? Oh, sorry, three pairs already on I can see. The evil of Eoka, a campaign with the support of a so-called religious man? A Christian? My God I believe Jesus Christ would have been shaking his head in horror. December 21, 1963 and the hundreds of murders at the hands of Greek Cypriot bullies. And Turkey, who your blame for all this island's ills, did what on July 20, 1974 and why? It couldn't have been because of the ridiculous antics of Greek Cypriots, who put up Nicos Samson as president. Wow. No, I get the picture. It's everyone else's fault. You're all good christians and Cypriots, warm, friendly...as long as you get what you want. Well, not from me, pal. Take your claptrap elsewhere, please.

tracer, people on your side of the argument always want to hit at the trnc and punish it but as I commented in earlier postings often shed a tear, either real or crocodile for "their" ordinary turkish cypriot but apart from this contradiction, you can always demonstrate real antagonisms between the tc's and the settlers from anatolia, for now at least yet it seems to me the crucial choice for north cyprus is not mainlander v. islander it is deciding whether the other lot who blithely use phrases like "my tc's" would as surely try to dominate and overwhelm again just as they did in the past ....I believe the general technical term for this is "out of the frying pan into the fire"
