Has anyone tried these, if so are they any good? Also does anyone know if can they be used with a water system that has a fixed water softener installed.

Thanks

Haven't a clue Karren but nice to see you on the forum. We just returned from cyprus on thursday and while we were there and driving around the village I wondered where your villa was but wasn't sure. Our villa is almost complete, they are just finishing off on the road in.

ORANGEKAZZIE : (...) Has anyone tried these, if so are they any good? (...)

Yes, my wife tried one (a present from an English friend) and I didn't believe it from the start - but I was told I was very wrong. My wife is very enthousiastic about the "Washing Ball". You only use one load of water (no soap, no softener, no second load of water and what have you - I'm not an expert..!) and that's it. My wife wishes that you could buy 'em here, but, yeah... If you*** live in England and are bound to visit TRNC, PLEASE, PLEASE bring us (tyhe wife that is) some "Washing Balls!! Thanks in advance!

*** Or another Brit?! Give us a call: 0533 864 5433.

Are you talking about the enviro balls? I have been using one over here (UK) for the past few months and brought one over when we came to the TRNC a few weeks ago. Thought it would be better to use over there because as you say no soap, no conditioner etc. It has little capsules inside the ball which last for about 300+ washes, goodness knows exactly what they contain but my washing comes up clean. Is this what you are talking about?

Chris,

I am afraid its too late for that. Washing for her is a thing of the past! She does like to hum

to the backing of the spin dryer. Very sad though!

Thank you all for the positive response. I'll definitely get them onto the wanted list as I'm fed up with the washing powder going sticking to the clothes.

Nige

Big?????

I have checked various sites on the net and they range from 9.99--24.99 so now I am doubting which is genuine. One says you save water by doing no rinses, how to you get rid of dirty water out clothes. One says use a little detergent. Very confusing.

Laundry balls: care for your clothes, washing machine and your environment. They stand for everything we believe in; they're natural, environmentally friendly, efficient and cost-effective, and deliver a clean, fresh, sensitive alternative to conventional washing powders that pollute our water supply, reduce the lifespan of our washing machine and break down the clothing they're supposed to care for. Laundry balls are a scientific breakthrough in cleaning technology. Just place the ball in your washing machine instead of detergent. Together they produce ionised oxygen that activates the water molecules naturally and allows them to penetrate deep into clothing fibres to lift dirt away. There are no harsh chemicals. Rinse cycle can be shortened saving water and electricity. They will not fade bright colours or damage clothing fibres. Hypoallergenic so suitable for sensitive skins/eczema (including babies and children). Wash balls soften clothes even in hard water so no fabric conditioner is necessary. Also anti-bacterial and kills Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus. Includes free refill pellets. Imagine not having the hassles or expense of carting bulky powders and liquids home from the supermarket ever again!

Laundry balls come complete with their own unique rubber ring cover to protect your washing machine.

I use one from Lakelad and was not totally convinced at first. I now add just a smidgen of powder with it and my washing is lovely and clean. Can't use it with fabric softener though so I have to stop the wash towards the end, take the ball out and re-start on last rinse after adding fabric conditioner.

Do they keep the whites, white or do they become grey after a while as you aren't adding any "whiteners" to the wash?

Also back to part of my original question, does anyone use them with a fixed water softening system installed, if so will it reduce the life of the "balls". Can't seem to find the answer on the web. Lakeland are the only people who say theirs can't be used with water softeners.

They don't clonk around as much when spinning as the blue ones.
