Accident waiting to happen, or what?????!!!!!! Karaman (Karmi) road junction does not even have lights, guess we're just expected to play chicken with the speeding vehicles. Hope the ambulances are on speed dial. :-S

the whole street planning is a mess, giving me a "65 km" 80 meters before the roundabouts and a 30 meters before the signs tell me that i can enter the roundabout with "50" km! it should be in 200 meters distance " 50" and 100 meters before "30", better "25".

the zeytinlik traffick lights DID work weeks ago, but 90% did not care. 80- 150km/h and a red light? no problem! life is risk and risk is fun! an old men nearly died at this junction, every moment is a nightmare. police: absent. a friend told me that the whole administration of the TRNC could be payed just from fines charged at this junction. be very very careful.

Long ago decided, in spite of it's convenience, not to use the new road until it is officially opened, in dread of the insurance implications in the event of becoming involved in an accident.

only been on it once, the other day. Went on at GAU. Suprise suprise, first thing I saw was an accident and a load of cops milling about (hadn't closed any lanes though!!!!) I wouldn't drive west on it at sunset, you can see bugger all with the sun shining right in your eyes.

I do not know why people are getting so aggravated by lights etc, the road is NOT OPEN.

It has been announced in the press that it is not open so why the moaning etc. If you have an accident as msg 9 states your insurance is INVALID!!!!!!!

It is amazing watching people swerve around bollards, fences and barricades ask why are they there????

I've been using it for yonks, great thing is you can use any side, any lane and go in any direction. It's better than being at the fair, just wear a St Christopher around your neck, keep everything crossed, take a deep breath, give way to oncoming headlights and you'll be fine, no worries!

There are many poorly marked zebra crossings here which are "open" but I would not be stupid enough to use them in a belief that the local drivers are likely to acknowledge that by stopping or even slowing down !

There's certainly nothing to indicate at the Lefkosa road end that this road is not open. The barriers have been removed.

Also as others have said, it's just the same at the Alsancak end too. There are no, no entry signs at either end, so to all intents & purposes, any driver would assume that the road is open. If it is in fact closed, then they have a funny way of showing it?
