During July 20th celebrations, saw 4 lads on kite-boards(?). They came down the coast from Lapta direction and went up to/past Kyrenia.

They were all young blokes some looked like Turks some like English lads. I must say it looked fantastic as they were flying through the air as well as surfing along.

Where can we do this, is there a club?

I would love you to try me too!

It might be me that needs the steadying though. I have been known to fall off when I get too excited!

I agree it looks fantastic, however it can be very dangerous: -

Keith is correct!

If you are an inexperienced windsurfer/kite-surfer, and not 100% fit, or even if you are, you MUST have rescue back-up in the form of a speedboat, or jetski.

I cannot tell you how many rescues I had to make when I worked [many years] on the watersports in Paphos. What one would presume to be big, strong guys [with little, or no experience] repeatedly fall, and each time lose a little bit more strength, until utterly exhausted - that's when they need rescuing.........

Even in these currently warm sea temperatures, hypothermia still sets in when exhausted.

Be safe - get yourself boat back-up!
