Hi again.

Well things are starting to happen, the better half is looking at flights from Bangkok to Cyprus. Just read a post on another NC forum. The guy said you must be mad to go there (NC) he has just left and now in Pattaya. Thailand. So something must have upset him alot.

OK we understand NC can't be every ones dream place to live, and seen a few comments complaining about living there. (You should look at the Goa page of http://www.britishexpats.com to see some real whingers). But what are the main pitfalls for some one new moving there. We don't want to go back to the UK. Anyway we sold the house so nowhere to live. Any advice would be helpful.

Cheers, Bill.

We love it here as well - wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

There are people in all contries that experience genuine problems, but there are also those that will just bloody moan wherever they are...

GOOD LUCK,

Yes its got it's bad points but I would rather be here than in the Uk .I am sure you will love it here and appart from the debacle over KTHY airlines going bust it is still generally cheaper to fly back to UK than it would be from Thailand

best of luck with the move

Phil

PS if you want a scooter or a villa I sell scooters for a living and I happen to have a spare villa for sale

I went to Thailand in April and loved it, Pattaya, Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

Next Feb, Koh Sumai for 4 weeks, but will still come back to Cyprus next summer.

Funny how you sort of drift away from the UK, is it the weather or how up your arse the place has become

with the yobs and psychos on one side and the health and safety Nazis on the other?

I remember reading something once..You will never know unless you go..We had this posted on our sailing yacht and that statement gave me a lot of strength..and in some high seas..Its also gave us the strength to move over here..another statement it " just do it and follow everything through"...

Moved here in January after three years of toing and frowing, just love it, no regrets, better than the UK. Even though the wife suffers with the heat at the moment, and misses the kids she still loves it.

Hi All.

Well we landed in Goa. With two suit cases and lived there for three years. So it looks as if we will "Just Do It"

We are looking at flights now. we can fly from Bangkok to Larnica 11 hrs. Not too bad. And Hotels in Kyrena. Anyone have any tips on getting from Larnica to Kyrena?

Thanks.

Bill.

If you are booking into an hotel here in North Cyprus they will often do your transfer from Larnaca the usual cost is 50 GBP. If not start another thread with your travel date and arrival time stating you are looking for an airport transfer and I am sure something will come up.

Chris

p.s.

Airport transfer would not be a problem regardless of arrival time, cost to you £45.

Hi Bill,

We have been here a good few years now and my advice would be to rent and not buy until you understand things fully. That way it won't be you whinging in a few years time.
