A small trick which can help is to make sure the laptop or netbook has better ventilation by putting something under each of the pads.

Currently, I've got my *laptop standing on the little three legged metal 'table' that came with the microwave, but being metal, is useless in the microwave.



*It seems quite stable, even when the owner has sucked close to a dozen Fosters - works goodo!

We bought one from Laconic 40-50tl but as usual they are much cheaper in UK ,try to get a friend to bring one over?

A bit of a digression, but why is the three legged metal thing useless in the microwave?

If your turntable is metal, then 'the thing ' presumably has 3 insulating ceramic feet on the legs, so it won't spark, (it won't need them if the turntable is ceramic) - and provided you have food stood on it, it won't get hot from the microwaves...

Metal 'stand-off thingys' are commonly supplied with combination ovens - i.e. ones that can use either convected/radiant heat, and/or microwave energy to cook.

They are suitable for all of these cooking methods - well, MINE is, anyway!

These are what we use on our laptops, it just allows the air to get underneath plus in this weather we now do not leave them all of the time;

Bought mine on ebay for under £6 and got a friend to bring it across. Cools the laptop with its 3 fans and looks cool also with its blue lights!

Mine has a blue light too... from China Bazaar... 39TL... not convinced it works that well.

34tl for a 3 speed desk fan at the 1001shop on the way to ercan and it works a treat. Keeps me and my desk top computer nice and cool

i bought the 3 fan one that plugs in via usb from flea bay,it does work a treat and i notice a huge difference in temp from my lappy.i would imagine it will also prolong the life of a lappy as well.look at the ps3 it has huge problems when it overheats and knackers the optical drive because of excessive heat,i bought a fan for that which bolts on the side and have had no problems with that since either.
