A Neighbor told me that eating marmite will stop you getting bit....

Vitamin B is what they just don't like....

I am not 100% sure but I have been here 4 days now & have been having it on toast and they seem to be leaving me alone... what do you think?

Wish it was true, for me anyway. Have eaten marmite almost all my life, every day. Still get bitten, though

maybe it would be worse if I didn`t eat marmite.

Vitamin B complex is what you need along with a good spray such as Jungle Formula which comes in a spray, lotion or roll on.

Whistler, maybe you are not eating enough of it!

I take vitamin B1 which gives off the same effect as eating marmite and stops me from getting bitten so much (plus the fly screens, plus the mossie spray for the room, plus the anti bite spray for me .........)

Dave,

You could always try rubbing it on yourself - then it's just a matter of finding a partner who actually LIKES marmete - if you follow my drift

Just a thought as I don't seem to get bitten anyway but I am trying for a baby and have recently startred taking Folic Acid (vitamin B9) Do you think this would prevent bites as if it did, my other half could take some before we come out again in September and save himself the bites?................we both hate Marmite!

Slightly off topic, but did you know that if you get a small blob of marmite and hit it with a spoon for ages (and it is absolutely ages) it turns as a white a snow.

Are you supposed to put sun cream on after or before insect repellant? Or does it not matter? Like Suzi, I took garlic capsules and Vit B and the bites, althugh I still got some, where not so severe and did heal quicker!!
