| I have never used a taxi in TRNC, other than for getting to and from Larnaca. I have been invited to a friends' home in Catalkoy and would rather not drive in order that I can have a few sherberts. Has anyone taken a taxi from Karsiyaka to Catalkoy? or vice versa in the not too distant past and if so, what did it cost?

| taxis in cyprus are the biggest robbers ever they charge way to much. but u whould have to pay about 50 tl now for a taxi . but if u are traveling at night they charge nearly double so watch out. |

| I use taxis from the golden lady to centre of town 25tl during the day and 30tl late at night max but please make sure you get in a car with a meter, |

| Its the same meters that are in the uk taxis, postioned above the gear stick in the dash board, the fare starts about 4tk, best get the taxi from your nearest hotel. |

| I always ask the driver what the fare will be before I get in the taxi.
Then,you either take it or leave it , and there are no nasty surprises at the end of your journey ! |

| From town you will need to add prob another 20 lira on top depending on where in Catalkoy you are travelling to - as an example I paid 25 lira to go from Karaolanoglu (bad spell) to almost the Acapulco on couple of occassions. |
