Blinky...wondered if you were referring to Snakes!!!!!!!!!! The chap you are talking about comes because he loves and is facinated by rock guitar music. He is a good friend of the Proprietors of Soyz and works for the local Belidiye. He, without us asking, is only to pleased to carry all the heavy equipment to our car and move the huge speakers inside until they can be delivered to us. He is a bit of a showman!!! That is his style of dancing, maybe not to everyones taste, but Barry Snakes loves to see people enjoying themselves at every level. I am sorry if you think he is a 'plonker', I guess it takes all sorts eh?!! Kind regards, Mrs Snakes

Mrs Snakes now there's no need for you to be sorry. He is responsible for his own actions and I'm sure he is proud of his dancing. It is sad that people stand and judge others in this way I agree. But it's nothing a bag of marbles wont sort out.

Thanks Wings x Having spoken with him, he is a nice lad, he spotted me me sitting on my own at the back on the wall and brought me a dining chair from inside the bar, I thought how kind that was. I wish I could turn cartwheels ha ha.

The guy is often there. As Mrs Snakes says he is a very friendly guy and polite. If he enjoys himself that is what it's all about. Live and let live and don't be too quick to judge others. All in all a very rude thread started!

well done mrs snakes, at least he's enjoying life, when you see him dancing you've got to smile, so don't critisise others for enjoying life to the fullest, carry on i say.

You have to be talking about Ahmet, well known for his acrobatic performences arround the Catalkoy area, best one I ever saw him do was the splits on the wall at the Old Mill in his Lycra pants, he lost his balance and fell into the laps of a few of the the Ozankoy grannies who thought all their birthdays had come at once. Nice lad just enjoys a performance and a bit of an audience. D.N

A coupla three tables from our motley group sat a mummy with two teenage daughters - Ahmet sloped over and invited one [or both!] to dance, but unfortunately got the 'bums rush' from the mummy in no uncertain terms! Poor lad - 'God loves a tryer!' Er, which reminds me of Snakey's jokey about the evangelist asking: 'Anybody made love to a ghost?' and the guy came forward thinking he'd said 'goat'. Had that been in Cyprus, the poor evangelist would have probably been killed in the rush!

Oh dear Blinky, I havent managed a Snakes do yet, but, I hope your not there when I am, I am nearly 50 and throughly manage to show myself up when certain songs are played. Middle age head banger, but I dooooooo enjoy myself, as I am sure the guy in your post does. It takes all sorts to make the world go around. He proberbly thinks he is a good dancer like I do, even though I know I'm not. So if you see this old women shaking whats left of her brains around just think poor cow, but at least she's having a good time Lor

Re Msg 13. You will definately see me Mrs Snakes at Soyz on August 18th, was hoping to make the 8th but it dosent look like we will be able to make that one. Is it advisable to bring our own chairs? I only ask because we were at Soyz when it first opened and there wasnt that much seating outside at that time, and as my luck would have it, your hubby was doing an audition that Friday (I think it was a Friday), but we had to head on back that day. I am counting down the days. Looking forward to meeting you. Lor

I bet you wish you had not started this thread, I think you have judged someone without knowing them, it seems this guy is well liked, and just likes to enjoy life. So "Chill out dude" James

One of the things I love most about NCyprus that here you can really just be yourself, and not worry about who sees you or what onlookers might think. Never believed I'd ever get up and sing (three times !!) in a Karaoke, or get up and dance in a bar. But NC has made this possible. "You don't sing? Why ?????" was the general reply (by locals) when I didn't join in. And that's a great way to be. Much less superficial. Because why not ?? Not doing any harm apart from a bit of off-tune singing or dancing. But thinking if then I'd find a comment about my bad, but enjoyed, performance on a forum....

Vaughan 'Is this the buffoon who walks in the road in Girne, using a plastic paint bucket lid as a steering wheel?' Who is the buffoon? He gets to where he wants to go, does not pay road tax/insurance etc and every car driver gives way to him. Is this the same buffoon who floats on his back in a pool (asleep) with a glass of Efes on a tray floating next to him?

Ahmet, really nice guy, known him since we first lived here, When I used to do a bit of singing at bar 11, He was always there, polite and respectful. Brilliant acrobat, One night he was just walking in a normal manner to the toilet, when he suddenly did a back flip. (good job he wasn't touching cloth)

I think you will find the buffoon is Mental, Barking, a nutter, or you may wish to be PC and refer to him as having 'Special Needs' (needs a licence) One day he is gonna get run over !!!! Ahmet is a great guy, he reminds me of Borat, when i saw him the other nite and asked how he was, he said 'Nice' !! Just like Borat

my son in law had a drunken dance off with him in the Fez, he's 6ft6 so the dance floor was cleared while daz matched him cartwheel for cartwheel, much to the embarrassment of his wife, my daughter! great fun though, and as long as hes enjoying himself and causing no harm, I say good on him...i think he lives in catalkoy...i see him up there quite a lot....i wish more people were as funloving, after all we live in a wonderful place, we should be happy!
