I didn't realise this isn't over, yet... Hope Ferrari get a heftier punishment and we get this rule strengthened - glad I missed the live version - don't like being 'cheated' out of overtakes..

Sorry, Clarissa, but I'm now actively disliking the petulant 'AlFonso' .. It is a shame that Massa - a year to the day after his terrible accident - wasn't allowed to show us that he could FIGHT for a win :(

Thanks mmmmmm I watched the race not a lot to shout about, but Ferrari think they can do what they want. I hope justice is done but as its Ferrari I doubt it.

I couldn't agree more Mark. The fine was inadequate, the rules are clear and "orders" are supposed to be historical. If Red Bull can race each other with all the attendant risks, then Ferrari need the book throwing at them. I don't necassarily blame Massa for doing what he was told, but the team have to be called to book with substantial punishment.

What does it matter? It has been nothing but fix and farce for years.

It matters because it cheated the fans out of a possibly thrilling finish. If Ferrari are allowed to get away with this it makes a mockery of the whole ethos of Formula 1 - to race to the finish and prove you're the best in the world. Massa's body language showed that he was sick at what he'd been forced to do.

Don't blame Alonso; don't blame Massa; blame Domenicalle! Did you see him laughing when Eddie Jordan tackled him about it? The cynicism of the man - and the team - makes me sick!

The worst thing is that Ferrari would probably have still had a 1-2 without this blatant breaking of rule 39.1.

Ferrari are F1s "stars" and are untouchable because of gate revenue, the top dogs in the F1 organisation do not have the b#####ks to deduct points and take away the win and second place, and put them to the back of the grid for the next race

Re : Msgs 1&5,

And I blame Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo and the culture that he has created that Ferrari is above the law. He has described as hypocrisy all the criticism that Ferrari cheated the fans of a racing finish:

"The polemics are of no interest to me. I have always maintained, which is that our drivers are v simply reaffirm what I have always maintained, which is that our drivers are very well aware, and it is something they have to stick to, that if one races for Ferrari, then the interests of the team come before those of the individual."

Eddie Ervine who had been in Massa's shoes many times in the past said: "Massa obviously has a contract where he has to do what the team says. My contract never said I was a number two, that I had to pull over. It just said I will follow team instructions at all times... /cont./

"Massa has agreed to this in private, his engineer knows that, the team know it, so why get all upset when it happens?

It happens because you agree to it. If you don't agree to it then don't drive for the team."

So, m x 6, why to blame Alonso? Then you would have to blame Hamilton too. Following your logic Hamilton should be stripped off his championship title, because Heiki Kovaleinen let Hamilton through in 2008 in Germany, and on many other occasions ( even this year) team orders were followed - only not so blatant!

I am with clarissa on this one.Remember the teams instructions to some of the drivers, fuel save mode? Then suddenly drivers are told,o/k you can push now, team orders under another method.

I thought this was always going to happen....

They can't get away with it last time this happened with Rubins & Michael this rule was made to avoid this happening again...

Fernando should lose his points for this without doubt...
