I am seeking to consult with a UK-based estate agent that is knowledgable about the area around Kyrenia. I am going home in a few days and am really confused about what I want to do. I just need to speak to someone. Any suggestions.......?

Be serious people, suggest you talk with Kate at Ian Smith. Seems honest to me. UK people will have no idea.

Best advice - don't do it if it relates to buying property! No rush is there? Go and pay a visit next time you visit, to the HBPG for free impartial advice at the Pia Bella hotel on any Tuesday 12noon - 3pm. You'll thank me for doing so.

I contacted Remax as they have offices all over the world. They answered all my questions, provided advice, arranged 16 viewings in 2 days on request. They were fantastic - They are based in the main street in Kyrenia.

That's their job. I could wax lyrical at how marvellous the estate agent was that showed me various properties but I won't. PTP was 'a mere formality' 'Pre 74 title was the safest' 'No problem being near an army camp' 'You'll thank me for it one day'.

exactly Hector you have to do your homework and take what some tell you with a pinch of salt at the end of the day they are trying to sell you something of course they will bend over backwards to help yuo Message 7 doesn't mean to say they are right !

If I had listened to the first estate agent I went too I would be in an apartment that was slipping half way down a ravine with half the estate unfinished, the second one was the Aga development I rest my case !!

we did our hoemwork nad now are on a site with title deeds and a finished apartment so it can end good but we are the lucky ones.

If in doubt and you dont knwo what they are talking about don't do it eyes wide iopen not Shut

Its no safer than using a local estate agent. There will always be a risk when buying in the TRNC.

Talk to Marion by far the best source of information dont listen to estate agents and certainly dont trust a 'lawyer' to work on your behalf they have no duty of care if you are serious about buying look at resale that way you can at least find out if they have main water and electric but dont take that as given it very def isnt here. Now is not a good time to buy off plan too many builders are in debt to banks and will use your money for other projects.Forget all the things you know in the UK they dont apply here.

Justa... Looking at your other posts are you in trouble?

If so post the details here. You might get some good and some bad advice but you may learn a little more.
