You are no doubt all aware of our efforts for Ismail and his family, We are so grateful to all our friends and supporters.

I class many of you on this forum as very close friends. I want you to hear this first from Jan and I not via the press.

Myself and jan have had to keep this under wraps for about 10 days, We are devestated, but we need to remain very strong to get through this I know that people will help. You have shown this already.

Thank God that we chose the Chesire Homes to work with, On ismails 1st assesment for his new arm, there was concern for a small lump on his remaming arm.

The Doctors at C.H. have got straight on the case. Thank you Richard and Chesire homes.

The news we dreaded so much has been confirmed, Little ismail has a cancerous growth on his good arm

We are trying now more than ever to support the family. There is to much for me to explain on the forum.

I would rather the Medical Experts speak about this. Ctd.

We will do everything in our power to help, to-day our neighbours, who live in the UK, are going back to start fund raising on Ismails behalf, they work for a very very large hospital and feel confident they can make a good contribution in the next few months.

The Cheshire Homes are actively discussing with the Ministry of Health and liaising with the Turkish authorities to see whether treatment, will be here or Ankara, but it looks as though this will not be free, we will keep you informed.

I have explained to the family, that the money we have raised for Ismails arm, If we need to we will use it to save his good arm ( or maybe his life) I know that all of the people who gave this money will not object.

We can start again on his arm appeal. The cancer now takes Priority,

He has already undergone several test this week , and has taken it all quite well, Jan and I spoke to him yesterday and he was his normall chirpy little self.

But he may have to got Ankara for an op. Or maybe in the TRNC.

We will keep you all informed,

Thank you to everyone, I will take a big bucket with me tonight to Park Lane, so join us for a beer and chuck your change in the bucket, and tomorrow at the The Roof at Alsancak.

( I think I'll probably sing the Isleys Brothers, Behind A Painted Smile.)

I am deeply saddened to read of this latest discovery, and hope all the people who have adopted their cause will lobby continuously for the Government to cover all their medical bills as well as providing day to day support

Our main concern at the moment is to get Ismail treated. Yes hopefully the goverment will help. But we cannot wait around for this to happen.

Ismails well being is at stake.

We will pull out every stop we can,

I want to go up a corner and sob my bloody eyes out, but that won,t help

Staying Positive. Ismails is a special litlle boy and like he said to me . Lee I'm not scared to walk around Pia Bella with you dressesd as Elvis, and he did it, he loved it.

Lets hope this is just a small blip, in his little life that can be overcome.

JohnnyLee,

I know you are devastated. Perhaps it will help to realize that had Ismail not lost his arm, you would never have known him. The cancer would not have been detected...quite possibly you have saved this boy's life. God bless you both. I will do what I can.

JohhnyLee ,i'm so sorry to hear about Ismail most recent health update and the effect it must have on his family , please god they have found it in time . On a practical note , can we not ask Izzet if it could be possible to start a way to donate , like the donation scheme we had for 44 via paypal , or perhaps someone in NC could start one , not sure how , but im sure there are people in the UK who want to help . It would help boost his funding , no doubt about that

Best wishes to Ismail and his family , Patricia

If there is any fund raising you could do to help, I am sure you could pay it into Lees UK bank account and he would convert to tl over here. We at the Cheshire Homes would give you a receipt. I will talk to the UK branch and see if we could set up a fund with them that could get transferred over here. Roy I will keep you informed.

Dennis that is fantastic, well done and thank you everyone for their support. Johnnie Hawkins is performing at the Pia Bella on saturdays 7th, 14th, 21st and 30th August. The concerts are free but any donations are going to the Cheshire Homes (Girne Rehabilitation Centre), which in turn will help Ismail, even if just physiotherapy that he will eventually need.

Thank You everyone, Dennis and Em, and everyone at the Red Lioin, Also a special thanks, sorry we couldn,t be there for Dennis's 80th.

This donation will be so useful, we want to keep the main fund ready for any ongoing medical work,

Or if there could be a miracle, then for Ismails Prostetis, as planned.

But I spoke with the dad yesterday, and he as had a lot of expenses this week due to these dreadful unforseen circumstances, IE, bus fares, phone credits, Hospital bills,

They really do have Nothing, they need us at the moment more than ever.

I also collected last night at Park Lane, So whatever moneys we have from these collections will be taken to the family on Saturday,

Also we have several items of grocery that people have donated, and a few other bits and pieces.

Thank You

I know that this is a strange question but are the family Muslims? I ask because the Saudi Royal family give a lot of support to children who have health problems and in fact they have done lots of operations to separate conjoined twins and the like. Their medical facilities are second to none and they will bring the family over and take care of the little boy. Especially around the time of Ramadan which is soon when they do lots of charity work.

Just let me know because we work with a Sheikh who has contacts with the Royal Family and I could at least ask him surely no harm in that.

Then I will ask this weekend but the Sheikh is meeting with a Prince on Saturday and so can you do it quickly please?

There is one unsung hero, who has been with us since day 1.

None of this would have been possible without him.

He as given his time and skills, and he is so dedicated, Whilst Cyprus Today have given excellent coverage, They have not mentioned this gentleman . I have asked 3 times.

Hi lilli

To be honest lilli, i feel a raffle will raise more money, if i can sell 100 raffle tickets from my shop for a 1 years supply of zerochlor at 20TL a ticket strip,if you can sell 100 tickets from your restaurant and lee can sell inbetween also, then we have the oppertunity of raising several thousand TL, as in a auction we may only sell 1 years supply for maybe £150,and also with the auction we are limiting our chances of raising more money,as maybe lots of people who would buy a raffle ticket would not get to the auction, also no 1 is going to bid £260 for 1 years supply of zerochlor, but i imagine 100s of people may well part with 20TL with the chance of winning the equivlent of £260 or 1 years worth of zerochlor.

Thats my thoughts.

Unct is banned from posting, for whatever reason, and to mention "minertor" runs the risk of the post being deleted.

He has asked me to ask that if the £10 he regrets donating for the upkeep of this forum, and which Izzet has ignored any requests for it's return, is proved to be donated to this cause, he will donate 100tl. All he asks is for proof that the donations are going to where the donors intend them, and not in "admin" costs.

I do not intend posting on this forum again

All monies from 1 years supply of zerochlor raffle will be going to ismail fund, every TL. Theres no admin cost for this raffle denizen.

Johhny Lee.

last night i was reading all the posts on this little boy and his families problems, also looking back at the pia bella videos that i posted on youtube, wonderful memories that can be there for life for the ismail family to be able to look back on in the future.

With this new problem that ismail has got i would like to get the raffle of the years supply of zerochlor going ASAP,i do not want to appear like i want to take over yours and all concerned who have been working very hard to help this family.

Id like to be able to sell 500 strips of raffle tickets with help from others, and i can assure all raffle ticket buyers, every TL from this raffle will get to the ismail family,if JL and others do not mind,id like to give the whole of this raffle money to ismail family once we reach 500 ticket strips sold,so all other fund raising activities and money can be put aside for the new arm as intended originally.

Id like to hear comments and thoughts about what im saying?

I promised an update today. We spent several hhours with the family yeaterday, They thank you all for the donations of food and other bits and pieces.

Also Thank you for helping them with their medical bills last week.

We Took Ismail his watch that he had been asking for, Got him a spiderman watch, he was so thrilled.

His mom and dad said they are so excited now when they know we are going, we wished they lived closer, and we could go more often.

They had got some grapes and cherrys yesterday, They cannot normally afford them, but Ismail had asked for them.

There are concerns from the hospital that Ismails (and the brother and sisters) diet may not be what it should be, Doctors have said he needs to eat chicken and fish, etc.

It is out of the question, due to money, They have a beautiful little garden, and had grown some really nice veg, and corn , and lots of things,

Now they have been told they must not water the garden, due to unpaid water bill. ctd.

Zerochlor, that would fantasic, maybe you could open them a bank AC, If you see my latest update. they also need financial help direct,

It is your stock and your idea, so I would have no objection whatsoever, May be you could give it directly to the family.

Ok back to the update. we will know more medically next week, At the moment the family have been told to try to keep Ismail calm, and not to over exert himself, (try telling a five year old lad to stay still)

I think it is looking likley that he may have to go to Turkey, for more tests.

Cemal ,(Ismails dad) is trying to keep this from the mom Fatma at the moment, she is already ill from the stress, snd she appears to have lost a lot of weight.

But they are so grateful for the kindness shown by everyone who has helped in anyway.

All we can do a the moment is wait, hope, and try to keep the familys spirits up. Regards Lee

Lee;

Has anyone thought of approaching the oncology department at the new NEU hospital? It's supposed to be world class, and the Director has apparently said that for special cases the fees could be waived. The publicity they could get from this would be fantastic, so maybe they'll consider looking after him, rather than sending him to Turkey. After all, most hospitals in Turkey are now refusing to take referrals from the TRNC because our government hasn't paid the outstanding bills.

Try a local remedy first.

hal90 - this, to me, sounds like a very sound idea, especially as, apparently, Turkey is now refusing to take referrals from TRNC for the reasons you've quoted.

Sounds as though it's certainly worth a try?

Lee - what do you think? (and thanks for the update).

If anyone can help with any ideas at all please do it. We would be very grateful. This as hit Jan and i very hard, we have become very close to the family, and I suppose especially to Ismail

He would not let go of my hand on Saturday, and he is very very close to Jan and also our wonderful interpereter and close friend Yasin.

His dad said they would love to come and see us when hopefully things are sorted out, (we pray ) We would love them to come, we told Ismail we had a swimming pool. My God he was so excited.

Please if any one can do anything, and take some of the load, we would welcome it. We could not have come this far with out you.

Hi again Lee - just thought I'd keep you company for a bit I can't sleep, although it's only about 12.20 in the UK and quite muggy in our neck of the woods. Mind you, it could have something to do with the bloody great curry I ate earlier! Just my opinion, but I do know how this sort of thing can tend to 'take over'. With the best will in the world, it can become all-enveloping. I am on very good terms with Chris Nurse and she told me, back in the summer, when she had her own health problems, that she had to take a step back.

I do hope, for the sake of you and Jan, that you can get some help on this; in the meantime, carry on the good work (as best you can).

All good wishes.

Jean

PS I worked (8 years) for a charity as a paid worker and my husband worked (still does) as a volunteer - any help we could possibly give, please let us know.
