The unions had better see the writing on the wall before it is to late. With no jobs and a bancrupt TRNC there will be no need for their sevices.

This corrupt and unjust system cannot go on for ever. the wages in the public sector are much much higher than the private sector. This injustice has to be addressed. Our unions and "workers" are used to have very short term "warning" strikes but none of them have the money, the courage or the determination for a sustained strike. any general strike will fizzle away very rapidly. ismet

Does this mean it will be a freebie crossing from south side at Metehan. Better stock up with everything that may be affected by all these strikes. Petrol, beer, meat, milk, bull****! As Ismet is implying above, do these idiots not see it is playing right into hands of their paymasters. Money on for this being a Turkish territory this time next year. Either that or Turkey will just stop paying and the only recourse for cash will be to merge with RoC.

I don't think it will effect the metahan as it is run by the police and they are run by the army

msg 10 For TRNC to get involved with EU would be a total disaster, the whole place would have to close down because the whole country would not satisfy Health & Safety regs for starters, one thing for sure the building "industry" would have to stop instantly. But to give an honest answer to your question the future for TRNC is with Turkey. It is too hot to go into a detailed answer so accept it as a simple yes/no and see how others respond. May prove interesting

The millions that the EU put in to the RoC seem to have been lost without a trace, once bitten?

The strike is from 7am until 2pm so even if Kibtek do join the strike i think we can all manage those few hours without power.
