So is it the end? And what is the 'B plan'? I have been predicting this for a long time and I think I know what the 'B plan' will consist of. But what do others think about the 'B plan' and what it may consist of?

AJ/Msg 4: 'So what do you think 'B plan' will be?'

Plan 'B', whatever the TC minister says [or doesn't say!] is not his decision to make while Turkey continues to fund the TRNC's very existence.

These TC politicians need to come to grips with the real problems facing TRNC - i.e., only a trickle of tourists and foreign homebuyers. Restoring the country's reputation as a desirable retirement and holiday destination should be their utmost priority, as well as restoring the essential 'feel good factor' amongst its own residents.

At present, everyone is alienated - but the 'powers that be' seem incapable of coming to terms with all this increasingly fomenting discontent - they simply can't see that it is to their own long term detriment.

Obviously, while their private coffers are funding their lavish lifestyles in the short term, this simply can't continue 'ad infinitum'.

Is there a plan B?

We cannot be annexed to Turkey as a province or anything else due to UN/NATO laws, the Greek Cypriots will not under any circumstances accept Turkish Cypriots as equals so that rules out reunification, going down the Kosovo route to gain independence is a possibility but Greece,Russia and a few more will lobby against it so things will probably stop as they are.

If there is a plan B I suspect it will be the same as plan A for foreigners who aspire to gain or maintain their title deeds in the face of an obvious will to ensure that no foreigner gains as his own for all time any parcel of land in Cyprus North or South any more than there is a will to let citizenship in time become the norm. Over several years there has been lies regarding PTP, suggestions to change freehold to leasehold, double selling, encumbering of land with mortgages and unsecured debt judgments, etc . The latest suggestion of an interim deed surely is no more than another ploy to ensnare more foreigners in a web of deceit. There is no reason why the filing of a purchase contract cannot cause a "caution" to be registered so that any subsequent creditors of the builder do not have a first charge. I love the life here and simply believe that it is best to enjoy each day as it comes and if in the fullness of time title deeds are worth more than squit that is a bonus.
