Packard Bell, Desk Top Computer with Apollo P1200 printer.

It's about 9 years old, has been upgraded on the RAM side. 2 Compact Disc drives (1 burner). 1 Floppy Disc drive.

Not been used for a year, but should still be working.

It's a bit slow, but would suit a learner or for spares.

There was someone on here a while ago asking for computers etc he was doing them up and giving them to local kids who couldn't afford them. I gave him an old laptop but have forgotten his name. Hang on in there and I am sure someone will remember who he is.

jerri/nurseawful, Guilty - it was me and still is although trying to give computers to kids for school became a battle with police and unions. Now I am attacking it in a new direction and doing them up for charities instead - that way I can pass them on.

I have about five in the garage right now - too damn hot to work on them in this weather - that I will start in on in November of this year (moving house in the months in between) so if you get no takers please drop me an email and I will come and collect for you.

The little laptop went to a youngster out by Tatlisu but sadly did not survive its first trip into the sea - don't even ask why it was taken onto the beach, I gave up with trying to find out the reason for that. I must admit it was a little funny when I went out to fix it only to find out that it was still full of sea water and would not charge up!!!!!! Never had one like that before and a glass of beer on the keyboard pales into insignificance!

Thanks for the info nurseawful.

Waddo - Thanks for the reply - I need to get it out of the way, as we are packing to move back to the UK (yes, another one leaving the wonderful TRNC).

So if you think you can use it, at a later date, then could you arrange collection please

steveafc. Suggest you try it yourself and then you can find out how much sway the Teachers Unions have with the local police! The big problem is IT support not the gift itself. If you "gift" the IT then either you or the teacher is responsible for the support - if it is you and you can do it then fine but it becomes a full time job - if it is the teacher then who is going to pay the teacher for the extra work entailed? Maybe it is a bit different here to the UK but I have also had the same problem in the UK with attempting to "gift" unwanted IT to schools. Not as simple as face value.
