What a great resource this is for advice! Thanks to all who contribute. My folks have a 3 bedroom place in Alsancak and my old man gets mutilated by sandfly - can you recommend a good tradesman to fit flyscreens? Cheers Ron

Hi PoliticoRon, There are a few flyscreen fitters about, screens are mostly to stop mozzies. For sand fly, you'll need a finer mesh. Good luck, Navek

There are quite a few screen fitters who advertise on here supplying the new, finer mesh, for the sandflies. I would recommend 'back up' for the little gits myself. Good luck - but remember to use other measures, also. They seem to be unstoppable!
