article a day or so ago says that both sony and panasonic are massively investing in this, and believe its the big big future for us all over next 2 years .



for me i dont have Hd yet so 3d appears light years away ,lol

*I* don't think you need an HD TV until you go to 32" or above.. If you are happy with a 28" CRT ( box) TV then what is the point of upgrading?



..and then you SEE a big screen - showing a modern HD film- I saw the most recent Star Wars film - I knew I couldn't go back..



Now if you are in the market to place a TV you can ONLY buy an HD TV - although you gets what you pay for..Even if you don't subscribe to SKY's HD service - if you use an HDMI cable - rather than a SCART you can see the difference..



I honestly haven't seen SKY in 3D on a 3D TV so I can't comment, yet ..



When I do I will find this thread and respond..



I THINK this will be a luxury item for longer than HD ..



WHY?

1/ economic climate

2/ many folk have just bought an HD TV

3/ lack of content ( as I said buying an HD TV can improve SD ( standard definition) viewing - by using a HDMI cable..



I wonder how I will feel when I SEE one ..

i have hd tv and shy hd package and there is a quality difference (and if you own a blue ray dvd its six times the quality as to 4 times the quality on hd as to normal tv)

i have seen a demonstration of sky 3d at westfield centre london and it was amazing

they showed highlights of football for example and with the 3d glasses on the image was not only out of this world in quality but the ball when kicked actually came out of the screen and i had to duck

so to entertain this further i have to invest in a 3d tv and upgrade my skybox as the memory used is twice as much as the hd channels when copying anything

upgrading will always be on going but once you into quality there's no stopping ps I have a 48inch tv

i am not sure from what screen inch 3d is available but i also have a 32 inch hd tv too
