went to a bar on my visit last year called bar 8.8.had a good time and was wondering if anyone was aware if it was still open or not.

yes it is still open. Has recently been tidied up too (new toilets etc)

that is now called 'The Lodge' that has changed loads. New bar outside and extended quite a bit inside. Very good people running it and have had a few good nights along there. I live the other side of Girne but would def go back more if it was closer.

i seem to remember it being a bit far but when it was bar 11 they picked us up in a minibus.i wonder if any other bars do the same

Get back to Bar 88 - it is just THE place - caters for all nationalities and its so friendly and loads of entertainment fronted by Sabena and her partner Husseyn- - recently had friends out there and they partied with lots of chat and fun with the locals both Cypriot and British. They wrote in my comments book that the bar made their holiday very special and they felt included and welcomed into the local culture. Try it out- nothing to lose!

Great Place - entertainment on different nights, last night was live act. Fab hosts Sebena and Hussayn and Sunny had the Sunniest smile on the island. He also has the biggest cocktail range on the island. Its cosy, friendly and just the place to go.

Also they do a fab Big Breakfast - cannot be beaten. A small breakfast and a great daily menu from 9am to 6 pm. - Jacket potatow with Prawns is my favourite!!!!
