For this money you don't get inverter technology. Inverters are recommended for people who live here full-time. For holiday homes, non-inverter is fine, as you will never use enough electricity to make any real savings.

I had them fitted to my holiday house in 2001 and still going strong.

Also have two units I inherited in current home. Never missed a beat in 4 years, although they will be replaced with inverters when they finally die.

Under the right circumstances, anything up to 60% less. For a residential (not holiday home) installation, the extra cost of the unit will be paid back in 2-3 years in reduced electricity bills.

Inverter a/c can also be run off a "small" generator which normally is not the case.
