Anyone know how to do this, please? I bank with First Direct in UK and have all the correct IBAN numbers, etc, but HSBC Kyrenia does not recognise its own subsidiary.

And Julie's away, of course.....

I have a First Direct Account and am a bit cheesed off lately that you have to pay £5 to withdraw money from hole in wall so I rang Julie about opening account with HSBC so that I could transfere money over-didn't get anywhere!!So I asked a friend who has an HSBC premier account if I could tranfer it to his account, did that on line and he withdrew the money for me from HSBC-no charges involved!

I am tempted to change to HSBC account in England when I go next to visit but not sure if that will work!!

Good luck.Sue.

kimig,

You have to supply the following information:

1. Name of the Bank

2. Name of the brach

3. address of the branch

4. Swift code of the branch

5. IBAN number of the account

6. Full name of the account

7. Address of the account holder

I have a premier account and my daily limit is 40,000 dollkars. Only yesterday I wanted to transfer 26,000 GBP and my limit was not enough. I had to use my business account with a much higher daily limit. ıf you do the transfer over the counter, you have to pay for it.

Hi Ismet - thanks for trying to help. Problem is that I can only pick bank names from their list. and there does not seem to be an option to enter all this info. All that is offered is Turkish banks ( as in mainland)

First Direct does not appear. I have all the required names, numbers, IBAN (Don't have Swift code, but anyway the system says to use one or the other). Have tried "EFT to a number", "EFT to a named person" "EFT to an address" - every option, in fact. I am not usually incompetent about these things, I used to be an accountant!

I think part of the problem may be that First Direct do not have branches. I too, am a premier customer with HSBC, here, but where on the HSBC web site can I put the names/numbers which I am trying to give them.

Can't wait for Julie to get back, plaster cast and all........

I did my transfer to HSBC (First Direct) Leeds only yesterday. Simply enter HSBC as the bank name and also the name of the city e.g. Leeds. You will see that HSBC (Firsty Direct) will appear immeadiately. Simples.

Kim Msg 1 – F D might be a subsidiary but in most things First Direct and HSBC are and work as if they were different businesses and in competition.

Sue Msg 2 – Julie only works part of the week and I believe she is currently away till early September

I am First Direct in UK, and work through Iktisatbank in Karalanoglu (excuse spelling!) - speak Mustafa - never been the slightest issue with transfers either way

Credit West - bit harder work, but does work - speak Naci at Kara branch

Better rates in interest on deposit accounts as well

Finally managed to send a trial amount (in case it gets lost!). What happened was - I was trying to EFT to my IBAN number, as suggested on HSBC info, but system would not recognise that. When, in desperation, I input as Swift, it gave me the proper list of names, first HSBC, then FD by same address.

Now waiting to see it on my UK account before doing something more.....

Thanks for everyone's help
