Car Hire in South but need to use it in North Cyprus

Hi,



My in laws are staying in the South at Protaras and want to hire a car to travel up to see us in Bogaz.



Can they take a hire car from the South into the North? I was worried there insurance may be invalid or may revert to 3rd party only?

No problem hiring the car and bringing it across but they will have to buy insurance on this side as they cross the border.

you have to have permission from the hire co

, then purchase insurance at the border 3rd party only

and if any breakdown or accident they will be liable for recovery costs back to the border
