watched BRT yesterday and it was showing a live feed of a fire that had broken out in Catalkoy, it looked to be in a very remote place, I had the benefit of the live feed from there and the view of the smoke from my Nicosia balcony.

I have not come to any conclusions as to how the fire started, a cigarette butt, BBQ or camping fire in such a remote area seems impossible, however flights departing from Ercan seem to fly over that exact spot and I was wandering if it was possible that some heated debris could have fallen from a plane and ignited a fire, I will leave it to the professional investigators, but just a thought.

The helicopters carrying water have only just ceased flying so it obviously too some time to damp things down.
