Whats going on with new threads are blank ???

Is it just me that has spotted two blank threads that we cant get onto ? all its saying is new..the post has vanished !!!

How strange...

I did read them when they were first posted one asked for directions to Guidos and the other was asking for the opening times..How strange that people come on and ask something then for the thread to go as it has..Its neither closed or open to read or post..Please could someone explain. thanks.

Hi so what you are saying that if someone comes over, or is due over.and asks a question re an establishment information they should not post any questions in seeking help or information. They should seek out an older thread relating to the question they are aking and post on that thread, would I be right in thinking this, this may well help in the future thanks.

If there is a thread open for a particular restaurant and you want to ask a question about that restaurant then you should post the question on the open thread.

If there isn't a thread open then you can open one with your question. If a second thread is opened on the same day it will be closed without reason.

To continue with this. Suppose for example someone logs in and wants to ask what time Effendi closes on a Thursday. If there is no thread open for Effendi then they can start a thread by asking the question. Let's say a couple of hours later someone else wants to know if Effendi has live music on Fridays then they should ask the question on the Effendi thread already open.

If they were to start a new thread with the question of whether Effendi has music on a Friday then that thread will be closed.

Bill I have missed all this as i have just got in, i didnt start either post they were two seperate posts , posted at virtually the same time, it sems some poster can start about 7 posts a day for thier establishment. Now they have disappeared and i can not even defend myself, if someone could throw some light i would be grateful. many thanks

Liz. People can post as many posts as they like about any restaurant as long as it's on the same thread. If there are more than one thread on the same business on the same day the latter one will be closed down.



This rule has been running now for some months after many complaints from many members.

From what i hear you are saying they must even need to go to the next page and also look for the subject matter then post on that thread...You are very right Lilli they were not taken from the forum all togehter as this may well hepl people..but they were not stated closed and why..I thought this was the done thing ? If not perhaps they should be stated closed.the title left for all to see.and the reason the thread was closed..easy !

No lilli they were just asking how to find your place..and another thread said they were out in sept and needed the opening times..I think as then people were unable to look as the thread went blank..It going to happen that soon prople will not be able to post if they liked a place..or thought the place was terrible...So much so for seeking and getting information from the forum in the long run..I guess the admins will have their work cut out as it happens all the time..

Spider, You don't have to search pages to find a particular thread all you need to do is put the name of the thread in the search engine (Google) at the top of the page and there it is, just type Guido's in there and everything you need to know comes up including where they are etc......

On this disapearing thread, double posting etc, would it not be a possability to have a side list or even a top list of establishments in NC that advertise on 44? It then would stay on the front page for new posters to just click onto. Plus Lili and Parklane could update with out it turning into a competition against each other.

I do find that it is always Guildo's that seem to have this happen, even though other establishments have as many if not more threads appearing.

Is there some sort of vendetta against this restaurant.........Seems strange after all the help they give the community and in fact this forum!

Lili perhaps the mods can ask Izzet to put a place on the front page that is kept there for new and old posters to access. It would then not cause this unhappiness of double posting, as I am sure it must offend some new members, if the post they put up asking such as your menue etc, is deleted without a reason given....
