President Dervis Eroglu has said that the proposals announced by the Greek Cypriot Leader Demetris Christofias through the press are creating difficulties in the solution of the Cyprus problem. President Eroglu – who met with his Greek Cypriot counterpart yesterday morning – told reporters on his return to the Presidential Palace that he conveyed the Turkish Side’s views on this issue to the Greek Cypriot Leader.

The President told reporters that the property issue was taken up in detail at the meeting, adding that they looked for ways of narrowing the gap between the views and proposals put forward by the two sides until now.

He reminded that a short break will be given to the negotiations until the 31st of August but added that their special representatives are scheduled to meet either on the 26th or the 27th of August.
