now that he's being properly looked after he's growing like mad. His ribs aren't showing now. When he jumps up at my mum he can nearly knock her over. He's being a spot on guard dog (I think it comes naturally to German SHepherds). I think he's trying to be an attack dog aswell because he keeps grabbing me by the arm and trying to drag me to the ground (only playfully, not hard), might just want me on the ground for a cuddle though ;-) He's generally well behaved but will bark at anyone or anything that comes near the villa. He responds to his name and to my whistle. Comes running like a whippet. He even responds to my name, I went in Lemar today and he was in the car with my mum and she said here comes Michael and he got up and watched me walking up, excitedly..

just had a freaky moment a min ago, thought someone had sneaked in and was behind me. They said sah uhu sah. Jumped and looked, it was only Efes. It had sounded so much like a bloke though it was scary for a second.

It is great news that Efes has made such a good recovery & has a loving secure home with you. Now is the time to gently discourage him from not jumping up at people though - what is cute & fun when they are a puppy is not so good when they are fully grown!! May you have a long & happy life together

ozankoys, I do agree, the larger breeds can be quite frightening if they have not been given proper obedience and social training... Mind you those little fluffy ankle-snappers can be bloody irritating too

someone did give me a link to a very good website on dog training but I forgot to bookmark it :-( I think we're not doing too badly, managed to teach him a few things. Trying not to teach him too much at once though because it would just overwhelm him I think
