Cyprus Queen bar will be having an open-mike comedy nite probably in September. If you think you are funny and can do stand-up for 5-10 minutes or more you will be welcome. No fees will be paid but the landlord will buy you a drink.

We will have a semi-professional compere who worked with Bernard Manning so you might know what to expect.

We are still trying to get some enthusiasm together for what we are now calling:



Jokeaoke Nite!!



We have an MC who will hold the thing together, and Washerman (I hope) who is the only volunteer, so far.

We may charge a small entrance fee, but this will be stricly for donating to a charity.

You don't have to have a comedy act, but we are NOT looking for "pub singers".

Perhaps a magician or hypnotist might like to do a turn?

Here is an old joke from this old fart. Please mark me out of 10 to confirm that I should not turn up let alone stand up ! A geriatric old girl in a care home had the regular habit of pushing herself along on a wheeled zimmer frame making "brum brum" noises believing she had a vehicle. Did this one time in the dining area and was accosted by an equally geriatic old boy who used to be plod. "Stop in the name of the law and show me your driving licence" he said. She took a crumpled sweet wrapper from the basket of her zimmer frame, he examined this and said "all seems in order madam, proceed" He stopped her again in the lounge and demanded her road tax certificate. Again she offered crumpled paper and again he examined it and said "Proceed" Finally, she sped down the hallway and plod leapt in front of her from the toilets stark b......k naked and pole vaulting. She made screeching noises of brakes being applied and shouted "Oh no officer, not the breathalzer again "
