Can the great cooks in TRNC help me please? Bought a jar of Helvasan Tahin paste and brought it back to the Uk in December. I now don't know what to do with it! I understand that it is used in various dips such as Humus but can't find recipes here. Help please

PeeCee - if you google 'Tahini Paste' there are lots of recipes shown.

I tried making humous once - the end result would have been ideal for rendering walls

Good luck.

If you blend cooked skinned aubergines with Tahini garlic and lemon juice it makes a good dip

Deniz1 Thanks - sounds good. How much Tahini do you need to add to the blended aubergines?

Cant say really i never measure things but enough to make a smoothish paste Depends how many aubergines you have used. Maybe a tablespoon or so.

Just thought I'd add that if you are making Humus with canned chick peas, don't forget to strain the liquid off , as if you use it all, the end result will be too sloppy.

I always reserve the liquid, blend all the ingredienrs, add lemon juice to taste and if its still too stiff, add extra chick pea juice.

Hope that helps

Susie
