Good news for folk residing East way . Looks like a fantastic big supermarket is half way through the build near Bacheli, looks like it is gonna be a big one, couple this up with the new petrol station being built .

Good news all round for East residents/holiday makers .

It is gonna be such a godsend for most of us East way, as you know local shops we will still support to a degree, but we desperatly need a supermarket .

I wish the petrol station would hurry up at Esentepe, we now have ot drive East or west quite a way to get petrol after the little one caught fire in the village. Thanks for info Pipie!

After spending some time recently with the “Owner” of the other board, I now feel some sympathy towards Ms. Pipie and agree she should be free to voice her opinions without personal criticism bourn from earlier dealings with said persons company.

The new fuel station would be a huge asset to the area but why does this chap start telling everyone that he is going to run the supermarket?

Good luck to whoever is really taking on the ventures.

You are welcome CarrieRbag, All the up to date news given freely with pictures on http://www.glencoecyprus.com forum, The opening date for the Supermarket is not set yet, but as you will have read on the initial post/report dated some four months ago the builder reckoned about 8 months build time and the structure which is coming along is def. is very futuristic looking.

The photos of the petrol station look good as well Sienna

Hi Paul .

In all honesty Paul with the heat/humidity it is very hard for these builders/workmen to work in these conditions I would imagine the concrete must set as soon as it is poured, so it must be hard to predict a finishing date on the petrol station .

Common sense says that builders working in the coming winter months would see a spurt on with the buildings.

I know from experience that an ideal build, is to plan around winter/summer but even that has gone through the window as who would have expected all of that rain last winter and predicted these exceptional high temp's at present, Must be difficult for these developers to get it right sometimes .

Hi Paul,

The new supermarket is being built on the beach side of the road where you would turn off to the old concrete shell of what I understand used to be a restaurant. It is to have a water feature and a kiddies play area to the rear. I understand that the local belediyia have plans to develop the local beach there. I hope this doesn't mean that they will charge to use it but would be nice to have it all cleaned up.

They are working on the petrol station again and seem to be forging ahead. The proposed supermarket is not that big... at least I don't think so and with those little round windows..... or do I have the wrong build?

Anyone know what the building almost opposite The Grove Inn will be?
