Wow that is fantastic. You can always rely on the Brits for putting their hands in their pockets. Do you know how much the USA has raised?

USA (govt) so far has pledged $180 Million. State dept has set up a national donation but publics figures are not available yet. The best touching story so far in UK: an old BRITISH Pensioner donated £75 which she had saved for the repair of her washing machine. Bless her soul! She certainly was not competing but showed her humanity and i think her donation was priceless!

Considering the wealth of US I think they could do more. Proud of our contribution in these uncertain times, and so proud also to see my 2nd home, India, has also given generously. My Indian brother-in-law has said on FACEBOOK "We must help our brothers in Pakistan"

Fred8.....msg 8 Unfortunately "pledged" is not the same as "given". All too often money is pledged and promises made, but this never materialises on the ground where it is needed.

and what will the western world get back in return for this genorosity ? more economic migrants, people wanting to build mosques, women wanting to wear face coverings, more claims for housing benefit and lots of staged traffic accidents. arranged marriages birth deformities as they insist on marrying close relatives. the list goes on and on . do not even think of saying ( like some do here ) conform to uk values and traditions or go or you will be for it.

Msg 12 and 13 What will western get in return? cleansing of their conscious More migrants? yes the more the merier More mosques? iF there is a need for it, why not? Just because the churches are empty does not mean the mosques have to be restricted Claim for more HB? if entitled to it, why not? staged traffic Accidents? crime in proportion by communities, is less in migrant communities Wearing face covering? why not or does freedom of choice belongs only to non-immigrants. Just as non-muslims have the right bare all, muslims have the right to be modest. The list can go on and on. I trust that by the end of next week another £30 million are added to the figure!

"The Republic of Turkey has announced to establish a relief town for 10,000 people affected by floods in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Fifty trucks and a train will bring the necessary material for the project from Turkey. More than 550 tons of flood aid will also be transported by train. The operation will be carried out by the Turkish Red Crescent Society, in cooperation with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. The prime minister of Turkey has also announced that his government would undertake the reconstruction of some demolished structures in Pakistan. The Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) will also be actively involved in the reconstruction phase. The people of Turkey have also been mobilised to support their Pakistani brethren during this hour of crisis. Several donation campaigns are under way in Turkey. Additionally, some Turkish NGOs are also involved in relief efforts. They are distributing humanitarian aid provided through their own channels

Turkey has also deployed two field hospitals, equipped with two ambulances and two 4x4 vehicles for medical emergency rescue in Khairpur (Sindh) and Sibbi (Balochistan). Two Turkish medical teams consisting of 21 personnel each will be working in the field hospitals. Earlier on, Turley contributed a donation of US $10 million to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund in two installments, on August 11 and 18. So far, seven cargo planes carrying more than 300 tonnes of humanitarian relief goods have landed at the Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi airports. The value of the humanitarian relief goods has exceeded US $1.5 million. The aid packages include medicines, food items, tents, sanitary products, kitchen utensils, blankets, sleeping bags, portable beds and water. A Turkish Armed Forces C-130 plane ..." |
